I found it interesting that despite all the controversy about CD's and whether they should be eliminated, they did manage to run a Finnstep CD competition. Maxwell and Traxler won it!

Hooray for Summerset/Gilles winning the senior Cd over Crone/Poirier.

Sylvia do you know which CD was CD1 and which CD2? I'm assuming it was Paso Doble and Viennese Waltz.

Strictly speaking, each team won one CD,but S/G had the higher combined score.

Interessting to see that the Hubbells will do Junior CD and FD but Senior OD!

Not really surprising when you consider there is no difference in the requirements in the junior and senior OD ( but huges differences in the CD and FD) . Doing senior OD won't affect the JGP preparations but it will give them exposure to competing against higher quality opposition which can only be a good thing.

Here's the link to ice-dance.com's index of video blogs (skater interviews): http://www.viddler.com/explore/icedancecom/videos/

The official results page has all results through today except for the last 2 events (Intermediate and Juvenile Free Dance): http://www.lakeplacidskating.com/newsite/competitions/ice_dance/08results.php
The "Junior Compulsory Championship Round" results link is currently wrong -- the correct link is:
http://www.lakeplacidskating.com/newsite/competitions/ice_dance/08results/jr_champ.php

Ice-dance.com has a plethora of competition and practice photos (and is supplying Icenetwork with action shots): http://photography.ice-dance.com/2008LakePlacidIDC/

Daily event summary articles and photo galleries are linked from Icenetwork's event page: http://web.icenetwork.com/events/detail.jsp?id=50528

Weren't the Hubbels supposed to be in Lake Placid?
Madison & Keiffer Hubbell placed 1st in the Open Starlight Waltz CD event, 1st in Junior Free Dance Group B, and 4th in the Senior OD.

C/P won CD1 (Paso), S/G won CD2 (Waltz), C/P won (Final round) CD3 (Waltz), and S/G won overall by .18 - 95.60 to C/P 95.42.

They looked great but I can't say it was a real competition since they competed against the teams half their ages, they're juvenile and intermediate teams. I guess they were there to demonstrate the dance?.
