Andrew Hernandez (Puerto Rico) I'd like to see him make a statement.

Artur Gachinski (Russia) a disappointment last season. and Razanno made the Final. A new chance now.

Mahmadoozanah and Halverson in their second GP. This could bring Mahmadoozanah to the Final.

Sonia Lafuente back again this season.

Bereswill and Musademba for their 2nd GP. Will they make the Final?

I guess the USFS is saving money on Air Travel.

For Dance, the Shibutanis for their 2nd GP. hope they make the final. And Tibbetts and Brubaker (he's Rocne's brother).

Feel free to commeent on any of the skaters you know about It makes it more interesting since most of us do not know these skaters.

What a great venue. I love Spain.

I am looking forward to see Sonia how much she improved from last year. It is great that Spain has two good skaters now (Sonia and Javier Fernandez).

Artur Gachinski - disappointment??? Why? Last year he was only fourteen years old. He landed 3axel, he landed this jump at every JGP competition. He finished fourth in JGP Chemnitz and second in JGP Tallinn. He qualified for JGP Final where he finished eighth (fifth in short, he made a stupid mistake in free when he repeated axel for the fourth time, so his last 2axel + 2axel sequence wasn't marked - he lost at least seven points). He was injured and didn't skate at Russian Junior Nats so he couldn't qualify for Junior Worlds. I don't think that his results were disappointing.

TIBBETTS / BRUBAKER had a great outing at the Philadelphia Challenge Cup.

Here were their scores:

Starlight Waltz (which they skate in Madrid): 28.68
Paso Doble: 31.39
OD: 44.90
FD: 71.26

Their total with the Starlight Waltz is 146.20, close to what Ralph/Hill scored in Courchevel.

Yeah, I second this. It was his first eligible year in the JGP and he performed marvelously, especially when you compare and see that most of the other finalists were 3-4 years older. 14 year olds topping the ladies podium in the JGP is common, but it's fairly unusual for the men.

Artem Grigoriev is another medal contender. He won two bronze medals at JGP (in Lake Placid and Sheffield) last season. His jumps have great quality. He execute quad toeloop in practise (he is sixteen years old). He is true personality on the ice.

Ivan is a guy who knows very well how to concentrate. Right now he is the best Russian junior skater (with Borodulin out). I saw him in Ostrava and he had much better skate than in Moscow.

Artem skated both his short and long program with mistakes. In long program he had bad landing in almost every jump which cost him many points. Plus he doesn't count turns in spin position so he can't get higher level too often.

I really don't know if Artem will skate good enough to get medal but I think he is capable of it. :)
