Nope, she fell.
Her movements looked a bit uncontrolled to my eye today. Not as calm as she seemed at SC.
It's still a lovely program though.

What did she fall on, though? *crossing fingers it was a 3-3 attempt*

Doesn't seem to matter if she falls or not

Caroline really needs to fix that double axel. She couldn't even get herself into the air, that's how much she slowed down going into it.

you guys are actually surprised at Joanies score with a fall.
The scoring is rigged for certain skaters. andJoanie is one of them.
I for one am not . I am tired of all this rigging.

On the 3-3. Her score was a bit high for that IMO. But oh well.

Ahh Caroline was doing so well! Then she came to a complete stop before the 2A, and it didn't surprise me at all that she couldn't get into it.
That's disappointing because other than that I thought she did pretty good. Looked more comfortable than she did at SC.

I agree with you on the jump element. She had an excellent expression, though.
Good job, Caroline.

Did she fall on second triple? Did she ever get to second triple at all?

Mao popped combo and doubled lutz. What happened to all the clean programs from the ladies last year?

Mao had some trouble with her first combo. AndI I believe she doubled the next jump.

Not sure if Mao will take first.

The first triple, never got to the second one.

And I think Mao did double her second jump. Did she pop the second jump in the combo or single it?

Wow, Mao into second. Joannie won the short!

I wonder if all of these errors are due to the unusually short amount of practice time the skaters had at the venue this week. Icenetwork had a report about there being only one practice day and no second rink this year. A matter of cost, perhaps? Also, apparently most of the skaters arrived only the day before official practices.

Very sloppy skating by the top group.

no discrimination-please skating doesn't know how to judge themselves.
it comes across badly .

Mao had some jump issues, but her skating is GORGEOUS!!! She's improved so much under TAT, such light, elegant skating! Never really liked her before, but she won me over at worlds last year, and now I am definitely a fan!

Wow, this competition is looking disastrous for the ladies.
I also would like to know which jump Joannie fell on, ie. the first or second triple of the combo, and whether the second was downgraded (I'm assuming it was with such a score). Too bad about Caroline; although she does have issues with the axel, I find it surprising she couldn't even squeak it out like usual. And about Mao... oh dear. I was hoping she could save an otherwise forgettable SP competition.

ETA: Never mind about the question about Joannie's jump. too bad she missed the first jump (flip?) -- maybe she was so preoccupied with the second jump that she quite forgot about the first. It happens, I guess, even to the best of us.
