It seems the European skaters are struggling this season, mainly due to increasing changes and demands on the body from COP and funding within their own federations in order to train to their full potential.

With the upcoming championships in Finland in January here are my early predictions mainly due to grand prix and B international events.

Pairs

Gold: Savchenko/Szolkowy
Silver: Mukhortova/Trankov
Bronze: Volosozhar/Morozov

Men

Gold: Brian Joubert
Silver: Tomas Verner
Bronze: Alban Preubeut

Dance (too close to call nothing in it)

Gold: Khokhlova/Novitski
Silver: Domnina/Shabalin
Bronze: Faiella/Scali
4th: Delobel/Schoenfelder

Ladies:

Gold: Carolina Kostner
Silver: Laura Lepisto
Bronze: Susanna Poykio

are you counting out Meier? I also can't see Dom/Shab lose Europeans, but I really really hope your bronze prediction will be true..

I agree with your predictions.

Regarding your predictions on the men, those 6 will probably be the top 6, although it would be intersting to see in which order.

I think the ladies competition will be the least predictable, a part from Carolina's victory.

Because he came in 3rd at the nationals, and I assume Joubert will get to go. I can't imagine the federation would decide Préaubert didn't deserve a spot, but I guess stranger things have happened.

I understand the committee was supposed to make their selections today. Does anyone have any news on that?

Dance:
Gold--> DelSchoes-they are in a league of their own right now
Silver-->DomShabs (the way they are skating right now I personally wouldn't have them on the podium, but hopefully they will be better by Euros. Then again, this is how I thought it should've been last season)
Bronze--> KERRS- If they can skate clean all the way through, IMO they would belong on the podium without a doubt
4th/5th--> between Faiella/Scali and Khoklova/Novitski
6th-->Pechalat/Bourzat
7th-->Cappellini/Lanotte

I'd like to see Ponsero deliver two solid programs and win, and see Brezina at least in the top 8.

I don't know what to think about pairs or ladies.

2. Laura Lepisto
3. Kiira Korpi
4. Sarah Meier (if she comes)

More predictions from me. Probably a little delusional in some points, but who cares? Not me.

Dance (with DelSchoes out these are the three I like best)
1. Kerr/Kerr
2. Khokhlova/Novitski
3. Pechalat/Bourzat
4. DomShabs (if their skating isn't better I can see them very well not deserving to be on the podium. They might anyway)
5. Faiella/Scali
6. Cappellini/Lanotte

Ladies
1. Laura Lepisto
2. Carolina Kostner
3. Kiira Korpi
and then no idea

Men
1. Yannick Ponsero
2. Brian Joubert
3. Tomas Verner
4. Alban Preaubert
5. Sergei Voronov
6/7. Kevin Van Der Perren/ Michal Brezina (I prefer the latter)

Pairs
1. Savchenko/Szolkowy
2. Volosozhar/Morosov
3. Kawaguchi/Smirnov
4. Mukhortova/Smirnov
5. IliushechKina/Maisuradze

I'll predict podiums only, and not for the men:

Ladies
Kostner
Korpi
Lepisto

Pairs
S/S
K/S
V/M

Dance

K/N
D/S
The Kerrs
K/N and D/S are what I think will happen, but the Kerrs on the podium is what I hope will happen.

In prediction-relevant news, Brian Joubert is apparently back on the ice. I read that in addition to Nationals, he had to miss a gala on the 23rd (doing the commentary instead of performing) but performed in Courchevel a couple of days ago. I hope he'll be fully recovered in time for Europeans and Worlds.
