Wow, Jessica & Bryce are really off today.

Jessica falls on the 3S (UR?), they have a bit of a crash collision on the twist landing, the lift ended so close to the boards that I was seriously worried that Jessica might bang her head, the throw was 2-footed, the spin was completely out of sync, and in the end pose Jessica nearly falls into Bryce. They somehow didn't look ready to me today.

score: 55.24

Dube / Davison:

Not a great skate unfortunately.

SBS triple saclow, she falls
Throw triple jump: Double-footed

other than that, everything else was pretty good

55.24, 2nd place behind I/B

Pang/Tong:

fall on SBS triple toe by Pang.
Gorgeous throw triple loop

63.10

The commentator mentioned that D/D were looking worried about the ice and that the falls may have been caused by the tracings left behind by the previous skaters.

Wow Pang/Tong are off today too. The 3T was really low and under-rotated on her part (sort of between double and triple with awkward landing), and as she stumbles, he runs into her a bit. But the twist was good, as was the triple triple loop. I like this choreography for them, elegant but with energy (in contrast, I didn't like Jessica & Bryce's music at all). Her extension is really improving.

Score: 63.10 (SB), first place after SP.

^

Compared to what some of the other skaters got last week at the CoR splatfest, 63 isn't too ridiculous.

NHK is probably the worst pairs competition of the lot unfortunately. I miss Langlois and Hay:cry:

All top pairs are pretty awful this year. None is consistent. I do hope P&T can skate a clean LP though since skating tango is style in pairs.

Ouch. D/D really bit the dust. They're usuallu FS skaters, so let's hope they can pull up tomorrow. It'll really suck if they're not at the GP final.
