I read on one of Irina's official boards that Irina has withdrawn from the Russian skate test. Does anyone have any news about this? Why did she withdraw? I know she withdrew last year too, but got conflicting reports. Early on they reported she was vacationing, then they claimed she was sick. Anyone know what the reason is this year?

I don't know much about this event, but from what I've been reading it's an event for the russian skaters to "test" their programs in front of russian officials and get feedback. I think it's almost mandatory for all russian skaters, including Irina. I could be wrong, but that's what I got out of the threads I've read. Any more news on Irina's withdrawing?

from what I understand... this is basically unnessecery for skaters of Irina's caliber and she only does it to get her programs seen early on in the season.
