I had not realized that Maia competed injured! When I watched their OD, I just assumed they were having an off day (We all have them).
Maia seems like such a tough cookie to fight through the pain!
They seem like such great kids and I am glad that they fought through it!
They looked liked they were having so much fun even with the mistakes and it sounded like the crowd just loved them!!!
Not to mention their FD is beautiful!
This may be a transition/growth year for them but I am thoroughly convinced that they are the future of ice dance.

After training in Colorado Springs, Colo., for two years, Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani, a brother-sister dance team, moved to Canton, Mich., to train with Igor Shpilband and Marina Zoueva in June 2006.
The decision to move was initially triggered by Alex's need to begin considering his college options. His desire to continue training as an ice dancer at a leading training center, while also being able to pursue the strongest possible undergraduate education, made moving to Michigan a natural decision...
