less than 1-axel
3t ur
2lz-2lo
nice spiral flexibility (a la kwan), but edge wobly a bit, slowish
nice smile, nice light presence but tentative and deliberate in movement , due to skating skill level
layback position nice
combo spin pretty positions also, speed so-so
3s, good height, flip off landing edge, then fall
2a looked maybe ur
2lo-2lo
commentator notes wobble on spiral coe
movement is light but very studied and deliberate
spin positions don't seem held very long
commentator notes 2-foot skating in footwork, though musicality is nice
doesn't come across as most musical, but i somehow still enjoyed her footwork sequence - finds good body positions - in spins too
biellmenn at end of layback, barely held maybe 2 revs
Keep an eye out on Melinda Wang of TPE. One of the stronger early skaters. I was impress by her last year at worlds, where she made the Final 24 Cut. Looking to hopefully secure at spot for next year Olympics.
theatrical opening, and interesting long layback spin that gets applause
2a - bad ur 2 feet messy
pretty good spiral, nice position and flow, tho struggled for 3rd position
flying camel donut spin
2lo opened up
2f
didn't end with the same nice openeing energy -- had promise
but seemingly not strong on jumps yet
I am getting a kick out of clicking on the ISU bios for many of these ladies and seeing how many of them were born in the USA rather than the country they represent.
