I had to vote other. Of course, I can't pick just one so here they are:

- B/S short program
- I/Z long program
- Tim's performances and his reaction
- Michelle's exhibition

Herm (sk8ngnutt)

Alexei's freeskate. Such a cathartic moment. Loved it.

Sarah's freeskate was not too bad either.

No doubt - ALEXEI all the way, throughout his programs (sooo determinated!), in the KnC after his LP, on the podium - one could really sense how MUCH this means to him ... it was such a perfect advertising for the sport figure skating, after all what happend before ...

But what has got into Scott? I'm collecting skating tapes and so far I've seen a lot of different broadcasts of Alexei's LP. No commentator, no matter from where he/she came from, Britain, Canada, Australia, Germany and Italy (... well, I don't speak Italian, but I guess I'm able to judge the meaning of a dozen
"bravissimo's" ) had even a slight doubt that Alexei'd win, nobody dared to compare his program with Goebel's, just the opposite, they're celebrating a lovefest.

I've read many posts of us-skating-fans who pointed out Scott's commentary has spoilt this great moment for them. I think it's kinda embarrassing for such a great, legendary skater ... sorry for being a little OT, but how did you react then?

My reaction was: "WHAAAAT the hell are you talking about?" It did spoil it for me a little, I must admit. Not that I believed him. To this day I don't like his commentary. But I liked someone else's (I'm not sure who it was, though), especially the moment he gasped after Yags' combination. He also said "He's really running on empty now" at the end, if that helps. Anyway, I love Yags' freeskate and all that happened after it. Sometimes I watch it just to cheer myself up, lol.

Btw, Anke welcome to the Golden Skate. I would've sworn I'd seen you here many times, but it must have been FSU and other boards, eys?

Alexie's free skating and the emotion he shown afterwards. Only Michelle's FOG made me more tears.

I was rooting for Michelle and Alexie. I felt a little comfort that at least one of them got the Gold. But to see Michelle come back strong this season I was even happier. IMO, Michelle's this season and Alexie's last season are similar, they both come back strong from a very disappointed season.

This was the most biased FS TV comments I've heard. Include the one they out cry at pairs.

As far as the competition itself, I voted for Alexei's free skate.

The moments I really remember however, are Michelle and Alexei's exhibitions. Michelle's tears and the cameraman following a stripped down Yagudin :D will stay with me forever.

Thank you, WindSpirit5, for your warm welcome! Yeah, I'm hanging around a lot at FSU ... sometimes I like the rudeness there, sometimes not .... currently I'm looking for a little relax, LOL!

I guess you're refering to Chris Howarth & Simon Reed from British Eurosport, the BEST!!! skating commentators in the whole wide world???!!!

Awww, I knew this would get me into trouble! OK, let's say "rudeness" is the wrong word, but actually I like openess, and sometimes this could become a little rough ... I mean, aren't we all just human beings with likes and dislikes? Who can be nice and politcal correct the whole time through? But don't be too concerned - I'll try to behave myself here and keep my "rudeness" at FSU!

If I remember correctly it was only one commentator for Yags' freeskate at the Olympics, and I loved what he's saying because he wasn't saying much, that's the main reason. He explained the technical stuff and added a few short sentences how it's gonna go from now, according to him. And I liked the sober enthusiasm in his voice, too.

Btw, if you're going to be rude we're going to send you to a room, strap you to a chair and make you watch Disney videos for a week, so beware!

MOST MEMORABLE:

Sarah's freeskate...I remember one of the commentators (Peggy Flemming? saying that she was only allowed 7 triples in the program) then I remember her falling off whatever she was sitting on when she realized that she won...I was teary.

Michelle's FOG - When I realized she had all those tears streaming down her cheeks, I was very teary. It hit me then that even though she was handling it well, she was heartbroken..*sniff* I must stop now or I will be teary again.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't remember much of what Scott said...

maybe after the Pairs he was second guessing what was trully going to happen

not only that... but skaters have a tendancy to choke... granted the only one to do so was Michelle... teh one Scott had his money bet on

I dunno... I think this was his worst broadcast... NBC's team brought out the worst in him... he needs to work with Verne again :(

My fave moments were:

B/S's Short program and exhibition (the crowd really enjoyed these)

Michelle's FOG...all those tears :( I also loved her reaction of being in first after the SP.

I/Z's LP...I loved that choreography.

and Alexei's "Winter"...so energetic. I would have put Yags' LP there too, but like many ppl said...Scott's commentary kind of ruined the moment for me. I mean anybody who knows skating knows Goebel had no chance to beat Yags when Yags was clean.
