JOHNNY WEIR, SKATING’S FASHION-ICE-TA, TO HEADLINE NEW YORK FASHION WEEK EVENT

NEW YORK, NY – 2006 Olympian and three-time national champion figure skater Johnny Weir has been confirmed as the headliner at a New York Fashion Week party, “Ice Skating and Cocktails,” sponsored by VMan Magazine, published by Visionaire, and Ford Models. The event will take place at the Pier 61 Ice Rink at Chelsea Piers on Thursday, February 19, from 9:00pm to 12:00am.

Weir will perform an exhibition number to Lady GaGa’s “Poker Face” in front of an impressive celebrity crowd. Invited guests include Christina Aguilera, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Vera Wang, and Richie Rich of Heatherette, as well as numerous fashion journalists, publicists, and stylists. Weir, a veteran of New York Fashion Week, previously walked the runway for designer Heatherette.

“I am thrilled and honored to be asked to take part in New York’s premier Fashion Week event,” Weir said. “It is especially exciting for me as I am very interested in fashion, as many people know. It’s always a treat when skating and fashion are combined in one setting.”

I’m very happy for him to be invited as a headliner at such a great New York Fashion Week party ! He must be very excited to perform in front of his idol Christina Aguilera . Hope he will have an opportunity to talk with her and will have a great time .

What a wonderful news ! :rock: If possible I would like to watch it.

The photos are great. Johnny is looking fit and fabulous. Who is the blond with Johnny in the first and I believe last photo, who is referred to only as Johnny's friend. Could it be Paris? Oksana looks great too.

Yes, that was Christa, and Paris can be noticed near her at the boards while Johnny was performing.

Since watching the video twice yesterday, the music is spinning in my mind whole day.:laugh:

Johnny was awesome in it, very sexy. :love::love::love: Not just musical but also with beautiful form, that is really Weir ! :rock: Hope he will perform with this kind of upbeat music more.

Thanks so much susan for a great interview and that fantastic skate from Johnny.

I love "Poker Face" anyway so seeing Johnny skate to it was just amazing - i loved the choreography - all the arm movements were just fantastic. Maybe Johnny should think about choreograhping at least one of his programs himself?
