S/S were the first pair to really sell a program and not a bunch of tricks. I will agree with Sandra on that front. That was the first routine I've been able to watch from start to finish without being bored (missed Caydee and Jeremy, thank God for DVRs!)

Looks like P/T and K/S battling for bronze.

Why did Yuko have to go for the throw quad???

Messy. A fall on the quad sal throw.
    Still, gotta be worth something!

That was one heck of a hard fall for Yuka.

Aliona and Robin finally put together the program we all knew they were capable of. Shame about the freak fall of Robin's, but everything else was wonderful. The only thing I don't like about their FS is they set this wonderful mood w/that gorgeous music and then...WHAM!! The Adagio portion completely ruins that. It's just a sudden and jarring change and doesn't seem to fit the rest of that stunning program.

    JMO...

Congratulations to the Two Time World Champions from Germany!!

Also so proud of our Canadian teams. Especially Megan and Craig. When you think about how severe his shoulder injury truly was and that there was a very real chance we wouldn't see them at all this season... I know they're disappointed w/their skate tonight, but considering everything they went through this season, they should be so proud of what they did this year.

I think it was just a triple sal throw attempt.

    Kavaguti/Smirnov
    I Pagliacci
-3T-3T sequence – hand down for Smirnov
    -3 twist
-throw 4S – hard fall for Kavaguti
    -lasso lift
    -lift
    -death spiral
    -2A
    -throw 3L
    -lift
    -SBS spin
    -footwork
    -combo spin

Not the best performance…should probably podium though, based on the way everyone (except S/S) skated
Robin and Aliona have definitely clinched the title…

same reason Rena and John force us to sit through a throw 3axel... eventually they'll hit one.

I have to say that the only teams who skate all out were Caydee/Jeremy and Aliona/Robin. Everyone else seemed tentative or off.

True, maybe they can still pull out a medal, but he had a hand down on a 3T too, so I don't really think they deserve to be on the podium.

Wow, she really hit her face on that fall.

K/S would have had the silver if not for that fall. Next time just do the triple!

    Kavaguti/Smirnov
    FS – 117.45
    Overall 186.30

Congratulations to Robin and Aliona! They definitely deserved this…
Russian pairs better step it up if they want to continue that Olympics gold streak…

    Yep, they're in 3rd!

That was a nasty fall. Yuko hit the ice with her head. I hope she's OK.
