I forgave her the mistake. I loved the program also. I thought Rachael was just wonderful. Look out for her next year.

I just saw Yu-na's SP on Youtube. I still think Yu-na could be fitter; she's carrying around extra flesh on her delicate frame and it makes her look not so elegant. I didn't think her performance was much different than at 4CC except that her step sequences were the best out of all her skates to this music. I think she's finally skating the steps sequences the way her choreographer visualized it and intended for her. IMHO, I think that's why she got that extra 3-4 points on top of 72-3 (what should have been). Her layback positions are unfortunate though.
Carolina Kostner and Mao Asada are fitter than ever and I wonder why Brian Orser is letting Yu-na go backwards. ***
EXTRA FLESH??? seriously?
boy would i love to see a picture of what you look like.
Yu - Na looks fine and healthy.
I thought that Lepisto girl looked extremely frail. I could barely watch her.
I just got home from my job up in Massachusetts. I missed the whole ladies' short; and in fact the whole competition so far. I was dissappointed, but not surprised at the U.S. ladies. I was hoping for much more.
I suppose it's too late to bring in Caroline.![]()
That's what I thought. Well, let's hope the girls do better tomorrow.
Yu na was amazing !!!!
I think this is the best she has ever performed !!!
I got full of power, inspiration from it.
Loved Miki’s, too. She did great job today !

Also, thanks oxygen, for showing Johnny !!!![]()

It made my day !!!!
All I'm saying is Yu-na has lost that ethereal quality about her which was why I enjoyed her expression and artistry compared to her competitors. Now, I prefer watching Mao and Carolina to Yu-na. Mao was elegant and graceful. Carolina was stylish. Yu-na... her jumps were great and interpretation great but somewhat... I don't know generic, too standard? Being delicate and ethereal was Yu-na's signature as Mao's great flexibility and buttery light movements across the ice is. Carolina's signature is somewhat awkward jumps that she manages to save most of the time. Maybe it's because Yu-na is at the pinnacle nobody's reached before but she's too "standard" now.
Miki was exquisite. Beautiful performance. I like this program and music alot.
Bring everything for the LP Miki !!!
Yu-Na was awesome with this performance. That was one fiery performance. She was definitely on fire for this. If she performs like that for her LP she will be really hard to top.
I thought Mao was great too, just seemed a tad off for some parts. Not sure this program is great for her. Prefered her Chopin SP from a couple years ago.
Fourclover, I think I kind of get what you're saying about Yu-Na. Her jumps and technique are incredible, but she's not a jumping bean. She has good artistry as well, but she doesn't float like Mao and isn't quite as elegant in her movements. She's kind of in-between, not quite in either category.
I think Yu-Na's best program was The Lark Ascending, where she really capitalized on her grace and the ethereal quality you speak of was evident. Since that first season on the senior circuit, her programs have become blahh. I think Miss Saigon was the worst last season. Did not like that program at all.
EDIT: Love, love, loved Mao's SP last year. But last season she had major problems with the SP as well. Her 3-3 was practically non-existent, but thank goodness she got it back by 4CC and Worlds. I wonder what her problem is with the SP. I actually like Claire de Lune a lot.

Yuna was sixteen back then, and of course her body changed. Even if she loses more weight, she will never look like that. Lark Ascending was a program only a sixteen yr old of massive talent can pull off. Same goes to Mao's Nocturn.
Actually Yu-na has (Cup of Russia) Mao I think has also only done a perfect FS once...Originally Posted by DarkestMoon
I don't think she's a shoe-in only for the reason that Yuna, IIRC, has never executed the perfect FS in the senior racks.
Mao has her own jump and long program issues as well. Like the tendency to get her 3/3's underrotated.
As Wrlmy points out, no matter how slender Yu-na Kim becomes she will never be sixteen again. If a slim sixteen-year-old is your ideal, you will have to find another one to admire.Originally Posted by fourclover
