3F-3T (looked clean)
3Lz (maybe edge call, hard to see from this angle)
Spin Combo
Straightline Footwork
Layback
2A
Spiral Step Sequence
Stars/Butterfly into Spin Combo

A nice, if reserved, program. I like the color of her dress, but not sure how I feel about the big, black bow. I do like that her hair is not in a scalp-stretching bun. The hair down looks nice.

3Lz-3L (wonder if they gave her credit)
3F
2A
Spiral Step Sequence
Flying Back Sit Spin
Straightline Footwork (bonus points for working in a Besti Squat)
Spin Combo
Layback

Solid performance. Curious about whether the judges will credit the 3L. It looked ok on my tiny screen.

ETA: In the slow-mo replay, it's clearly underrotated. So nvm on that.

2A
3Lz-2T (maybe two-footed on the lutz, hard to tell - looked tight)
Flying Back Sit Spin
3F (double 3's out of the landing)
Spin Combo
Straightline Footwork
Spiral Step Sequence
Layback

Jumps were a little rough. They didn't look as easy as they usually do.

ETA: In replay, Lutz in definitely two-footed.

No surprises here with the top five. Mao's score is quite high. She is very capable of scoring high and she must have been spot on racking up the points. Can't wait to see her SP. U.S ladies need to break 60 ..... Thanks to everyone for the updates.

1 Mao ASADA JPN 75.84

This is amazing! Shows that she CAN compete with Yu-Na Kim! Olympics will be different now!
I don't think there was ever any doubt that Asada can compete. It will be interesting if this is the layout she sticks with..

Here's a n interesting thought - has Mao ever done 3A-3T in practice?

If she could work on that combo for next season that would potentially give her the highest scoring SP of all the ladies.

I would also be intrigued if the same judges were used in both the Ladies SP and the Mens SP.

I, for one, and I think I am the only one, who does not believe that all judges are created equal. Can't help but think one Panel is not the same as another Panel.

True, but shouldn't there be some objectivity especially in tes?

Here's a n interesting thought - has Mao ever done 3A-3T in practice?

According to Tatiana Tarasova Mao was able to do a LP runthrough with 3A-3T in the off-season (and 3(f)Lz + 3F-3L or 3F-3T in the second half). It seems like changing the training regime + getting 3S/fixing 3Lz messed up her timing on some jumps (especially 3-3s and 3Lz). I hope she'll get those more consistent next season.

Having said that, I'm overjoyed that Mao did so well today! I watched her performance with audio getting ahead of video, so it was hilarious to hear the crowd going bonkers before Mao actually did something.

Miki and Nobu were so adorable in the K&C when Mao's score went up! I thoght Nobu will poke Morozov's eyes out with the flag by accident.

Great job from Miki, too... Such a shame that her 3-3 was downgraded, it looked sooo gorgeous in practices. It looks like 3L combos are just not a safe bet nowadays... If Miki did 3Lz-2L she would have been in 2nd. Perhaps it's time to work on 3Lz-3T - her 2A-3T looked amazing at Worlds, and her 3Lzs have great landings, so perhaps getting 3Lz-3T wouldn't be impossible.

Holy score:eek: This new layout is so much better for her.

I wonder how Joannie did. Her pcs seems pretty low.
