Princesses on the ice. But I don't watch warm-ups. Will do PBP though.

well that was not an auspicious start by Ms Didier!
Oops, missed the beginning of obscure European Lady No.1
Gwendoline Didier
I saw a
clean Triple Toe - Double Toe
a European (read bad) spiral sequence
Triple Toe - fall out
Double Axel - double Toe - Double Toe - laboured but clean
Steps - bleh
Couple of blah spins
Warm-up shows clean Triple Lutz, and one definitely underrotated jump.
French team is relatively tame, singing loud football songs together and jumping up and down with flags. Is Joubert wearing lifts or is he just that much taller than everyone else.
Score: 75,77
France was really hurt by the format. I'm sure they would have rather sent an extra dance team and left Gwendoline at home.
He's 1.79 according to the ISU bio. Florent Amodio is supposed to be really short, but I imagine Yannick and Fabian should be around 1.80.French team is relatively tame, singing loud football songs together and jumping up and down with flags. Russian blond Carmen
Double Axel - clean and high
Triple Lutz - high, but 2-footed landing and stumbles
Triple Flip - high, but bad fall
Triple Toe - high - and saved the landing
Camel spin - bad
Triple Lutz - high, but fall and possible underrotation
Double Axel - clean
Spiral Sequence - her hands and arms are trying to tell us that this is indeed a program with music
Triple Salchow - bad fall
Layback spin - European, read - bad!
Generic footwork 101, circular - oh, that's so carmen
Combination spin - bad
That's what I call a disaster. Two positive things: she is pretty to look at and her jumps have good height, she just can't land them. I like how they pick the landed jumps to show in the slowmo. Russians are so boring compared to the French. And Smirnov was wearing the same shirt to the Europeans SP press conference (sorry, photographic memory), Yuko's sweater looks like something I was wearing at 12.
Score: 69.61 (Hah! Outskated by Gwendoline Didier!)
Yan Liu
Obscure Asian skater No.1
Triple Lutz - not bad at all!
Triple Toe - Double Toe - clean as a whistle
Triple Loop - Double Axel Sequence - clean
Layback - wait, an American layback, beautiful!
Spiral sequence - two good positions, one ugly one
Double Salchow - Double Toeloop - clean, but probably not what she was looking for
Triple Toeloop - good
Double Axel - very nice
nice moves in the field
Sitspin - aborted, lost balance but no fall
Footwork - slow, generic
Triple Salchow - girl got guts
Combination spin - she should do 3 layback spins each program, that's her best
Program was bland, tingly slow violin music. But it was well done, she stayed on her feet. And what I saw was rotated.
Score: 91.05
Candice Didier
Eat something, please!!!!
Triple Flip - saved it
Triple Lutz - Double Toe - clean
Triple Toe - clean, great speed in and out
Single Rittberger
Combination spin - decent
Spiral Sequence - okay, good flexibility
Double Axel - both hands down
Double Toeloop - Double Toeloop - clean
Double Axel - step out
Flying sitspin - alright
Footwork - yawn
Last spin - halfway decent
She looks awfully concentrated and always somehow unhappy. The three opening jumping passes were great, she lost steam afterwards. The entire French team is now sitting on the bench, Joubert with two girls on his Lap. They are having fun.
Score:78,08
Yes, thanks very much for the PBP
Good morning! How's Katarina doing?
