I suspect Moonlight may be an offshoot/inspired by her SOI performance. Seems reasonable to me to think so. Music already familiar would logically make a program easier to relate to.

Mirai's music choices are kind of overused don't you think? Carmen we all know has been done a lot. I skate ISI and I have done many competitions and at every single competition I have done there is at least one Pirates of the Caribbean program. I even used it once and I know several others who have as well. So many people do it.

Also I didn't know Shen and Zhao were coming back. I love them!!!!

I think this is the first I've really looked at all the programs from every discipline. So much variety, so many choices, it whets my appetite.

Ashley Wagner's "Once Upon A Time in America" I'm excited to see, I love the music & the movie. Lol, it seems every season thus far I enjoy Ashley's choice of music, whether it be the SP or the LP.

The guys that are skating to Beatles & Rolling Stone music I also am looking forward to with great excitement.

Karen Zhou's "Reverie" sounds interesting. Likewise, I'm looking forward to seeing Emily Hughes skating a clean program to GWTW.

Sasha does terrific with Latin music, something she obviously enjoys skating to, that's what's most important, it brings out all her fire & passion. However, I'm most looking forward to "Moonlight Sonata". From Adios Noninos to Moonlight, it will be an interesting transition, showing off both sides of her personality. Out of everybody, she's the one I most look forward to seeing again on competitive ice, because in my humble opinion she's the most gifted.

Summersett & Gilles FD to Led Zeppelin has me listening to the Hammer of the Gods! I love Led Zeppelin. Bring it on!

As of early July, Miki is just in the process of making her new SP with Morozov.
Her LP has already been made but not announced yet.

These are told through her own words on Japanese media.

"Requiem by Mozart" is one of her 2 new gala numbers.

OK just correcting some small errors in the posts:

First, the "theme to The Pianist" is not actually its theme, it is Chopin's Nocturne 20 in C# Minor, which could not have been written specifically for the film because Chopin is dead and therefore cannot be called a "theme." It was featured in The Pianist, not created for it.

Second, since when did Andrew Lloyd Weber create Les Miserables? Try Schoenberg.

To be honest, Karen Zhou's music selections are probably my favorite of any of the ladies this upcoming season.

Glad I could help. I'm a film score collector, and I know I am not the only one on the forum, I'm just the first to point out the errors. If you need any more help I'll be happy to oblige! Also Les Mis has not been made into a movie (yet) and after seeing some of the recent musicals after Chicago I'm quite thankful for that.

I am sort of promoting the new season at Filmtracks' message forum, sharing with them the list of all the scores/musicals/classical pieces featured in films. My friend Craig is one who is seriously interested!

I like the selections and will be watching the season again. Irecommend this to the community as this joins music and athletic artistry in a wondrous synergy!

I have to say it doesn't say "Africa" to my ears but then Saint-Saens had probably never listened to Afropop Worldwide. (OK, there's one "exotic" theme. North Africa, maybe.) Anyway it has lots of verve and will be quite a contrast to Clair de Lune. I think it's a lovely choice. Go, Kristine!

Well, I'll be pulling for B/B. Cinema Paradiso makes a lovely FD (the Shibutanis certainly had a great one). But I listened to B/B's reported FD music on Youtube, and if they get the choreo right, that could be the voidiest program of the season. I can't wait to see it!

To add to what Doris wrote - though I can think of more than 10 soundtracks I like, I am not an expert either. I just wanted us to have an organized list instead of a 30-page thread to look through (which is what I did to put the original list together). By now most of what you see has been added by Doris, who's doing a great job with the updates and keeping track of everything. So thanks, Doris! And I hope you'll do virtual programs again for the GPs. Those were great.
