Slavka Kohout ran the skating program at the Wagon Wheel resort in Illinois for 17 years. She ruled the place with an iron (but loving!) fist, and created great memories and incredible legacies for all her skaters. Students included Janet Lynn, Gordie McKellan, Mary Scotvold, Didier Gailhuguet, Debbie Stoery, the Santees and many many many more.

I'm so glad Slavka Kohout was willing to talk to you that long! It was fascinating. I just wish she had talked more about Dick Button (not about their relationship, but as someone who knew Dick very, very well).

We just ran out of time to talk more. She had somewhere she had to be, so I felt really pressed for time. But since she and Dick are still quite close, I asked her to put in a good word for me to interview him!
