she will carry the Olympic torch on Dec. 19, running about 300 meters in downtown Hamilton, an hour's drive from her training camp in Toronto. At the recommendation of official Olympics partner Samsung Electronics, it will be Kim's second consecutive Olympics to run with the torch.

How exciting! Wow, I didn't know that she did that last time as well. BTW, I have a feeling that she could continue competing even after the Olympics? She looks healthy now. Also I feel that she may be really enjoying now. A couple of seasons ago, she did not sound too happy with all the pain etc. But now I don't hear such stories. So I wonder.

    Wow! 300 meters?
I hope this won't effect her training and that she doesn't hurt herself

Congratulations Yuna and it is nice to see Canada let athletes from other nations join in on this Olympic tradition.

Yes I think so. I remember seeing a picture of younger Yuna with the torch and there was the year '2006' on her jacket. I'll try to find the picture.

Here is an article that mentions it:

This is because she embarked on the long journey to participate in a torch relay to begin in a small village on the outskirts of Firenze. She had been awarded the honor of running in the torch relay for the 20th Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Torino from February 10 to 26 in 2006.
