By the protocols, it looks like they had a mistake in the twizzles and their start value was lower than all the teams in the top 5 except for Alessandrini/Vaturi.

The protocol says low levels and a mistake on twizzles.

    Right, moving on...

But seriously, they didn't even mention Shelepen in their preview. It's not so difficult to find out who Polina Shelepen is. You can type it into youtube, there have been videos of her landing all Triples, having good speed and halfway decent spins during the past year, or even the past two years.

    But, moving on here...

Overall, a great start into the season. Dornbush landed a 3A , Shelepen skated the lights out with 7 Triples and reports are, that the Russian ice-dance team that won, is just amazing.

ITA that the IN article was so dumb, insulting and poorly investigated. No mention of Shelepen, who's gotten a lot of hype, and can land all the triples and has difficult combos - which is reason enough to consider her a threat in the JGP. No mention of Ilinykh/Katsalapov, which if you look at the results of Russian Junior Nationals (not too much research for a website previewing the event), they beat a strong team that has medaled in the JGP for the past two years (Monko/Khaliavin). Shouldn't that warrant a mention? I thought that ice-dance.com's article (though focusing only on ice dance) was done much better.

Moving on, I really enjoyed Grant Hochstein's SP.

They even failed to mention Zhan Bush and Nikolaev among those who had top-10 JGP finish, though Bush was 9th last year and Nikolaev even medaled. And landed a 3A in his freeskate there, in Budapest.

Clearly they wrote of Russia skaters. And Russian skaters got the last laugh because they won two of the three events in a true dominating fashion.

And got a bronze in men's.

Thanks to everyone for postings the results and links etc.

    P.S.
I would really like to know where Russia is getting all these rocking juniors in gymnastics and figure skating from.
