a strong showing for americans
seems to a shoe in
For men's...I think it's going to be a Messing/Hanyu showdown.
In ladies I think Kanako can win if she doesn't have a meltdown like Yukiko :/
Christina Gao has a lot going for her, though.
Canniusco/Lorello are my picks for dance...
I'm thinking for ice dance Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsapalov, then the Americans and very curious to see the team of Alexandra Paul and Mitchell Islam.
In the ladies, I'm with Ivana R, Kanako Murakami, Christina Gao and Isabel Drescher.
In pairs, probably the Japanese, but I'm rooting for Felicia and Taylor hope the have a great showing.
And men, we're probably in for another American victory but I'm very much looking forward to Ivana's brother.
I think Ilinykh & Katsalapov are the team to beat after their showing in Budapest. Antipova & Kudashev should contend for a medal as well. Cannuscio/Lorello and Paul/Islam are my dark horses.
I think Kanako Murakami is the favorite on paper, but Reitmayerova, Gao and Agafonova are all threats. Polina is my favorite out of this group - she's got lovely basics, amazing spins and last year she was landing all the triples except for the loop:

In pairs, I'll be rooting for Takahashi & Tran. But Novik & Kuznesov both had strong showings in the JGP with their previous partners and supposedly have triple jumps. Vasilieva/Shevchuk have nice lines & style.
My hopes:
Men: Yuzuru Hanyu
Ladies: Kanako Murakami
Pairs: Narumi Takahashi & Mervin Tran
Ice Dance: ?
Go Team Japan!

I hope Felicia and Taylor do well so they get another assignment![]()

35.02 points?! That's an amazing score!
I think it's the best this season!
I wonder how Kanako skated...
:sheesh:
They just won the First Junior Grand Prix event in Hungary and by a landslide.. Looks like they are gonna repeat it here. so Right now they are the Shibutani's main rivals for gold at the Final..Maybe the new team of Pushkash/Guerreriro could contend also but they haven't debuted yet.
There are videos of all their programs at fsvids.net.. They are indeed really really good.
