With Musademba bombing, it means that Anna Ovcharova (RUS) is in the JGPF.

1 Kanako MURAKAMI JPN 15 15 S 30 1 315.77 2 199.87 104.69 115.90 60
2 Polina SHELEPEN RUS 15 15 30 1 308.65 2 204.16 102.73 104.49 57
3 Angela MAXWELL USA 13 13 S 26 2 272.46 2 179.06 90.54 93.40 64
4 Ksenia MAKAROVA RUS 13 11 24 2 264.36 2 168.23 90.89 96.13 52
5 Anna OVCHAROVA RUS 7 13 20 2 262.59 2 162.99 88.50 99.60 62

are all in. Kiri Baga (15), Yuki Nishino (13) and Christina Gao (11) will try to qualify next week. Gao needs a medal to qualify, but Baga and Nishino will likely qualify with a top 5 finish. Ekaterina Kozireva (5th in Germany) can qualify with a win or even 2nd place, but it'll require some help from the other 3 and she'll have to outscore Ovcharova if she finishes 2nd AND the others bomb. Same goes to Jasmine Costa (EST)

3 russian girls are in the JGPF  Congrats!

Well...now that I've thought about it again, there's are several scenarios in which Anna Ovcharova won't make it, the most likely being:

If the final results for Turkey are either

1. Costa (or Kozyreva) 2. Gao 3. Nishino 4. Baga, OR
1. Gao 2. Costa (or Kozyreva) 3. Nishino 4. Baga AND Costa/Kozyreva outscore Ocharova on the second tiebreak.

The qualifiers would then be the following, in some order

1 Kanako Murakami 30
2 Polina Shelepen 30
3 Angela Maxwell 24
4 Ksenia Makarova 24
5 Kiri Baga 24
6 Christina Gao 24/26 (depending on which scenario)
7 Yuki Nishino 24
8 Jasmine Costa/Ekaterina Kozyreva 20/22 (depending on which scenario)
----
9 Anna Ovcharova 20, but with a lower score than Kozyreva/Costa

None of the girls competing in Turkey are the bastions of mental fortitude (except maybe Baga, who's pretty consistent) but IMO, it's fairly unlikely that Costa or Kozyreva will outscore and outplace Anna. So she's most likely in the final.

ETA: To qualify for the JGPF, Kozyreva and Costa would have to place top 2 and score:

Kozyreva 144.58
Costa 142.04

I guess chances are pretty slim for Kawamura to make the final then. :eek:hwell: Oh well, I'm glad she medaled here.

Has Kiri Baga always been this good? I was really surprised to see her do so well at her last event. As last year's novice champ, she's beating all the juniors from last season.

Kawamura will likely be an alternate. She's got the same amount of points as Ovcharova, but Ovcharova comes out ahead on the tiebreaker, because a silver and a 5th place finish trumps a bronze and 4th place. Ovcharova also has a higher point total (262.59) than Kawamura (251.79)

Kristine just unravelled - what on earth happened? She is so much better than that.

A huge disappointment but I trust she'll put it behind her and deliver at Nationals.
