Shoko Ishikawa (I freaking love that name) needs to get some confidence, some style and some pizzaz.

    The Lutz will be downgraded.

Just to prove I'm a pedantic twit, there is no 'womens' competition, there is a 'ladies' competition.

    That is all.

But it's the men, so it should be also the women. Everything else just sounds strange.

Please don't close both the threads, at least keep one thread open.

okay, just want to say that JPN has a lot of great young talent, including this girl, whom looks exactly like Yuna Kim in both looks & physique. Lol, I really thought it was her during warmup.

how about a bit of PbP
Shoko ISHIKAWA to get things started
long set up to 3f-2t, nice
    2 axel clean
    fw into 3 lz, under-rotateded I think
flying combo spin, a bit slow
spiral a bit slow into layback
    footwork, nice
    flying camel to finish
well skated, not a lot of interp of the music, but she should be pleased
    44.28 in 1st of course

    Yan LIU - China
Music- piano verson of Impossible Dream- ill-advised I have to say
    3lz turns out 2t
    3 loop a bit shaky
spiral big wobble on change of edge, right into 2 axel from last position
    spin- slow
    layback, nice
    fwork
    combo spin to finish
    47.64 into 1st

    Oksana GOZEVA - Russia
    Tango music
    2 ax
long set up to 3 lz, falls
long set up to 3 flip, not really out of footwork, under rotated falls again
    spin
    spiral, not well done
    nice combo spin
footwork, and actually some choreo that related to the music- up to now you wouldn't know it was playing
final spin is very fast and centred, layback with skate to head
    40.66 - 3rd

    Becky BERESWILL - USA
    Music from Red violin
    3 lz hand dwn -1t
3 flip (or was that a toe- wasn't concentrating..) clean
    big fly into sit
    spiral, nice speed and positions
layback, has trouble grasping skate blade, only 1 rotation in final position
footwork and falls on her knee
2 axel, a mess and down
    final spin
it's a more mature programme than those preceding, and well interpreted
36.26 - wow that seems harsh, but in 4th
