It's unusual to see a dance team do more than stumble in a routine. In 2008 at Cup of Russia, Charlie White stumbled once and fell twice in an OD, dropping the team of Davis & White to eighth in that segment of the competition.

That's probably the biggest dance meltdown I recall.

In pairs, it's the other way--perfect performances are rare. Meltdowns are quite common.

I never saw that before. Poor Charlie, such unusual mistakes for a Dance program.

I remember a pretty disastrous Pairs program but don't recall who the skaters were. But they fell on their side by sides and the girl fell on all of the throw jumps.
Fortunately only their pride was injured....:)

Maybe that's why I like ice dance so much: you don't have to watch it with your heart in your mouth.

Individual skating is bad enough. People can fall on jumps and lose everything. But golly, the damage people can do to themselves in pairs! There are incidents that chill the blood, and we've actually gotten to watch some of them with our very own eyes. Certainly pairs are a wonder to behold, but I'm always a teensy bit more comfortable seeing them on tape, so I know everyone lives through the routine.

No one will forget Laetitia and Nancy's big meltdowns. Does anyone remember Irina Slutskaya's first appearance as a Senior skater?

There's a lesson to be learned here: Save your "disaster" performance for a smaller competition at the beginning of the season, so you won't spend the rest of your life being remembered as a human zamboni. :agree:

Maybe because I'm so fond of Browning, I'd include his fall (or was it two falls?) from the short program in '94. .

fall on the flip, singled the double axel... and a slight stumble (but with a Browning recovery who'd notice?) on teh footwork.

I'd say his 1992 SP and LP were much worse, overall.....

actually when people say Albertville there are two skaters that come to mind - Kurt's disaster and Paul Wylie's triumph.
