I can't tell if yuna cheated the 3 toe, each time I took at it I have a diffrent opinion, so I guess it could go either way. Regardless, she was overscored to have a 65 without a flip. It is not like everyone else bombed and so she is in s second by default. Sure there were downgrades and stepouts by the other ladies but no falls or pops. Yu- na can and probably will still winthis easily witha mistake or two in the free. Is the rest of her skating really THAT good?

You've never seen her skating live, right?
I saw her 08, 09 SA. Just amazing!!!
It's not about jumps. Her every movement was just amazing!

You are starting from the logical premise that Yuna's 3-3 is not great and the rest of her skating is not really that good. So, it would take a while for you to find the answer on those. Good luck ;)

Wow for once a really close sp. This freeskate is going to be intense. Miki just showed us how she could be the surprise gold medalist. Stay within her limits and do what she does well. Leneova was overscored. I seea second love affair with the judges like the Irina thing in 2004-5. What is it about the russian girls?

Alena didn't score 70 points with that program, she only got 61 points. When you factor in how others of her caliber (Suzuki and Ashley ) did her scores look fair.

And as for Russian ladies (Alena and Irina), they tend to fall less frequently than some other skater, hence better score.

as for European panel... Israel is a asian country;) , so is most of Russia.

At least Yu-na skated her "overscored" program in a country other than her own: exactly!

I got it from this forum. It should be on page 11 of this discussion or somewhere close. Somebody posted it while discussing nationality of evil tech controller who has it in for Yuna.

I think that tech caller is very evil. :p

If they are going to start calling Yuna then the rest of the girls might as well stick with the 3x2. Or Speedy needs a more competent caller.
This is the mighty GPF - one would think ISU would have their best team working it.

It would be the same if Laura was there. Look at the judging panel - it has an overwhelming majority of Euros.
So Alena is the only Euro girl there and will have an edge because of it.
Imagine if seven of the judges today were Japanese. Do you think Akiko and Miki would have gotten better scores?

Oh, c'mon, don't you see the judges here (in all disciplines) are tend to give PBs and SBs to all who skate clean?? Leonova and Ando were the only who skated clean and they got PBs. Nothing intriguing and nothing about politiking.

According to an article I found online, Yuna received +1.6 GOEs for her downgraded 3-3 combo. It's interesting..... if it was a downgrade-worthy, the judges would've given her negative GOEs but seems like the judges and tech. specialist aren't really saying the same thing, I guess.

Because the judges don't see the < mark from the tech score.

It's rather insipid that some of you have to scum down to poking fun of people's nationality. Deal with it. Making fun of someone's name because it sounds FUNNY and suspicious to you? Are some of you still wearing diapers?

Miki did not receive a new PB.

This thread is messed up....:disapp:

It's worst than ever, especially with the "I don't mean to bring XXX up but...." and "No offense but...." as a false pretense of objectivity.

I'm trying to read through the thread and each page is worst than the previous.

Hey I just thought of something, maybe the panel tried to make Yuna NOT win so she doesn't have to skate last and have tons of pressure on her. This could all be good because maybe now she will put up the LP we know she's capable of (with the 3flip) and win by 20 points par usual :) . But yeah I mean she skates after Alena now, who though good, I doubt will bring the house down. If Miki does a great LP, the crowd will go crazy b/c it's in Tokyo, and if Yuna had to follow that it would be a lot like the situation at SA where she messed up. Now she doesn't have to worry about that because she gets to skate before Miki. Plus her SP score is still huge and shows that the judges DO think she is the best, if she had done the 3flip she would be ahead of Miki by about 4 points and that's including the downgrade on the 3t she didn't deserve. I actually think this is good, Yuna typically is always amazing in the short and then sometimes falters in the long (the back to back worlds when she won bronze comes to mind). I highly doubt she'll mess up two programs in one competition because she's amazing and that would be out of character, but it's actually better if she makes mistakes in the short and not the long because the long is worth more and there are a lot more jumps to worry about if you make a mistake early in the program. 1 point is nothing, and she's still 4 points ahead of Alena. The funny thing is, she didn't even seem upset when she found out she was in 2nd place, she was laughing about it with Brian. I think it will all work out for her tomorrow. The real question is who will take the silver and bronze? Miki and Joannie are the obvious choices but I'd like to see Akiko or Leonova make the podium

If that's true, wouldn't that be biased judging? ;)

It is interesting way of looking at things, may be Yuna could be able to skate without much pressure. But what GPs have shown is unpredictability of women's event due to lack of consistency from top ladies. If Top ladies all have been highly inconsistent. If they make mistakes like this, it may provide athletes like Flatt and Leonova with good opportunity to sneak a medal.

Hopefully you will separate the paragraphs next time you write, it was very difficult to read the post

What an advantage given to Yuna this time

Wouldn't that be biasness? You know, the stuff many in this thread has complained about in favor of other skaters in previous comps, like I don't know the Canadians. Hypocritical statements are hypocritical.
