Um....no it wasn't. If you actually bothered to check the protocols for her free program at 2008 Worlds instead of making numbers up, Mao had 60.57 PCS and 61.89 TES--I don't know about you, but 60.57 is definitely LOWER than 61.89.

Oh, my mistake. I meant to say Mao crashing into the board and couldn't perform for 10 secs had higher PCS than Yuna who popped one jump and no fall. Yuna's TES: 64.82, PCS: 58.56.

But yes, I was confused. :) Thanks for correcting me.

I don't know about the one who downgraded the 3-3 today, but
I think the one who gave Yuna's flip "e" and level 1 on her step sequence
is a cute little Japanese lady. So that's why I was asking. haha

Tech Specialist Ms. Myriam LORIOL-OBERWILER gave ridiculous "e" (08 coc) to Yuna. and she gave her 3t downgrade. Both of them was ridiculous call, but she isn't Japanese.

Yes, it's that person. Also, the Japanese lady you have in mind is not a tech "specialist", but more of a boss of the tech team.

I was suspicious of this LORIOL-OBERWILER person from the moment I saw her depressing brown jacket.

And, really, what kind of name is LORIOL-OBERWILER?

A jump needs be 90+ degrees short to be downgraded...

Thanks - so it may have been a little short but I dont think it was anywhere near 90 degress under.

The truth is I hate some of these tight calls........and wonder why the most spectacular jumping pass in the history of Ladies skating is being overly scrutinized.

No wonder so many girls look like a nervous wreck.

I thought the to tech controller who gave Yuna level 1 was Junko.... something? Or am I getting this completely wrong? lol

I think this is the lady was the one I was talking about...? lol

All in all, I regret watching it live this early in the morning. TVU feed was cut in the middle so I couldn't even watch Joannie's and Miki's (but that's fine, I can't stand Miki's SP this season.)

I hope tomorrow would be a better day for Yuna.

So that answers your question. It's not the same person who gave Yuna's step sequence level 1.

But seriously, level 1? I read a deep/irrational hatred from the call.

I think many of the discussions going on here prove that COP is a horrid tool... Yeah; neurotic, nervous wrecks, no one consistent, no stars (only stars that get downgraded by evil tech callers :p... wasn't COP supposed to put an end to all that discussion about favoritism?)... If you read this thread you'll see it all.

Anyway; twitter from Ashley: "Note to self: skating cautiously leads to mediocrity."
Dear Ashley, you are far from mediocre, it wasn't your best skate just as it wasn't your worst. Go for it tomorrow!

I hope someone will put her SP at youtube... I'd like to know if she got dinged for more than a two-foot and a wrong edge... It's silly how we can't make sense of figure skating without a long list of unreadable protocols. Sighs.

 So the boss is there again today and now this...?

Right.

At 07 coc, Technical Controller Ms. Junko HIRAMATSU gave step lv1. to yuna.

So what you're saying is...Ms. Junko needs to be junked.

LOL. Perhaps. Come on, everyone knows that Yuna did not deserve
level 1 on her step sequence. Until that "e"' call, Yuna always received positive GOE on her flip, and now her 3T is UR. What's next? Yuna's 2A is UR???

I'm sorry, but I just can't see why Kim's 3-3 was downgraded. Could someone please explain?
