Can you give me the article source? I would love to read it.
So either Judges are insane or the tech specialist should jump out the window.

I am seriously depressed right now. Yuna made me come back to figure skating, this is like Salt lake all over again for me. I really wish Yuna was
Canadian or American.... She would have been treated like the queen after Kwan. (And since I live in the States I would've loved to see her at the US nationals!!!lol -sorry Korean fans, no offense!!!) After watching Chan's PCS, I really believe so.

Hmm.. So it seems Yu-Na was benefitted from the rule revised this season that downgraded jumps do not necessarily get negative GOEs. I thought she would be the last person to get such a benefit. Whopping +1.6 GOE for a downgraded jump! Something is not quite right here.

I meant the technical referee, not a controller. My bad.

OK, now there's a newsflash showing her scores in 3-3.
The 3T was downgraded and the score is 8.9

Which means she got +1.6 GOE on her downgraded 3-2(Basic Value:7.3)

So, to sum up, the judges saw no problem on her triple-triple.
However, the tech specialist downgraded the same jump.

I really don't like to argue about the judging,
however IMO the tech specialist's decision today was clearly wrong judgement.
    Not even near DG, nope.
I have to say, this downgrade was a very controversial decision.

I watched the broadcast(Asahi's) live with a big-screen TV (there slow-mo was fabulous by the way.. that whole frame-cut effect thingy..), and frankly.. this 3T >
I seriously just don't get it. Not even a doubt. :frown2:

    1/4 my azz..

I don't think the referee does technical calls.....IIRC, a referee does things like stop the music if something falls on the ice or someone's costume goes awry.

If you read this thread you'll see it all.

Anyway; twitter from Ashley: "Note to self: skating cautiously leads to mediocrity."
Dear Ashley, you are far from mediocre, it wasn't your best skate just as it wasn't your worst. Go for it tomorrow!

I hope someone will put her SP at youtube... I'd like to know if she got dinged for more than a two-foot and a wrong edge... It's silly how we can't make sense of figure skating without a long list of unreadable protocols. Sighs.
Great post. CoP is freakin' cryptic. And tech callers aren't consistent enough so that viewers are always having to play guessing games. Don't worry about Ashley, she's a fighter & she always seem to be revved up even more when she's not satisfied in her SP.

And figurejennah, can you stop your inference to an underlying scheme? By your logic the person that gave Yuna a +1 GOE for her first combo at SA in the LP would have to be a Korean judge, right? I'm being sarcastic, but, sigh- I want to enjoy a competition where there isn't any nationalistic conspiracy theories. Yuna's 3-3 looked clean to me, but her top portion of the blade did catch a bit & so can it possibly be that the tech caller simply made a mistake?

What about a whopping DG for +1.6 GOE jump?

I think what's "not quite right" is the fact that a perfectly rotated 3-3 has been DG. I've counted three times. It may not be up to her usual caliber, but it's not enough to be DG either, and I think the judges agree with me (that 1.6 GOE says it all), as do a number of the posters here at GSF. Do technical judges change from SP to LP? I don't want to see Kim's gorgeous 3Lz-3T fallaciously DG again.

Now that I have that out of my system, I wish the Korean media would stop smothering her. Reporters both Korean and Japanese have been giving her loads of pressure concerning her SA performance and 3F (questions such as "Can you actually jump the 3F? Why did you miss it?" are asked). With that in the back of her mind, I doubt that she can perform impeccably like she so wants to. People should seriously just leave her alone. I swear, the pressure is getting to her. Big time!

I'm just gonna wait for protocols and massive clips of Yuna's 3T the Korean fans will be analyzing to death

I hope Kim can demonstrate her mental and skating calibre by rebounding in the LP. It's what the great champions do.

I knew someone would complain about this.

Well, I'm certainly not going to be humorless.

Sorry if you didn't see the humor, but I didn't degrade her.

I definitely stand by what I said about her depressing brown jacket.

It's quite ridiculous that there are no replays for jumps to see for underrotations, clean landings or cheated landings. In a sport that has seen its judges be involved in cheating and conspiracy, it's a wonder why steps have not been taken to ensure that it is as clean as possible.

I am not being nationalistic here, I am from the states........??

I am sorry, but to be honest, I really cannot accept this downgrade with her 3T. Seriously, first her step, then her 3F, and now 3T. Now what?(And if it's that one/two same people who are giving these problems, then I will be bitter...... lol)

And, Ando got positive GOE for her 3-2 (which was supposed to be 3-3). BAH...??
