I think its a great Idea to have nationals combined for all the very small but culturally & geographically connected confederations. Others should follow this trend , maybe the Nordic and Balcanic countries.

Verner finished 4th at the LA world championships hence Czech's have two spot at the Olympics. It will be great to see both these wonderful skaters at the Olympics.

Lately Tomas was anything but wonderful. Brezina on another hand, will not going to give him anything, that kid is a great competitor, with a bright future. Verner will have to get his act together because soon he will be only number 2 in his country.

thanx!!! I am so glad we have the possibility to see both these beautiful skater in Vancouver and Torino!! I hope Verner can get all together, and I'm definetly in love with Brezina's skating too since I saw him last year live!

Brezina's the champion. It's good there are enough spots for both of them.

Tomas fell on his 1st quad and doubled the 2nd. But his triple Axels are always there. No matter what. :agree: Although he came second this was actually a rather good LP. I'm carefully optimistic.

I like them both a lot, but I think the leading man following this year in Europe will be Michal Brezina. He has everything he needs to be a great champion, he has very good technique, musicality and solid consistency in competition.
You are looking at a future multiple euro and perhaps world champ. If nobody said it before, you read it here first!

As far as Verner is concerned, he has the potential to be great as well. But he has some stamina or focus issues and he keeps leaving poits on the table with singling or doubling jumps late in his programs. Until he fixes those, he will not live up to his potential.

So, Amodio won France and Brezina won in the Czech Republic. I believe the warning you hear in the distance is "The young'uns are coming, the young'uns are coming!" Chan in 2008 was just a warning. That said, I'm genuinely surprised that this is the year they're doing it.

Herios, I'm pretty sure Joesitz will forever claim laying eyes on Brezina and his future first (probably before Brezina did!!)

Thank God Tomas earned 2 spots for Czech at LA Worlds, otherwise he'll find himself in the same awkward position as Caro.

Although Michal doesn't have quad yet, he's developed into a very consistent skater (or maybe he hasn't felt too much pressure as Tomas yet). I truely love Tomas' skating, but I started to doubt now if he'll ever be able to skate to his potential (sign). I hope he can prove himself at Euros.

I know Joesitzs predicted it, but at that point I wasn't convinced not seeing him only in an exhibition piece on youtube, but after watching him at his GP events and now seeing this result, I am. He has an awesome technique ( I can tell you I have not seen such a high flip ever) and the musical choices at such a young age (very dancey) and his strong head for competition all make him most likely a huge favourite in years to come.
Of course, injuries can derail a career, as had already a surgery last year, but we shall see how he evolves.
I can see in Amodio a lot of potential as well, but his technique is not that sound as Brezina's. And that will always be a handicap, when things will get tight.

It does. They are different countries, they just organize the event together for all 3 countries, only for logistics reasons, as they don't have enough competitors in each and every country.

Can anyone inform us about the Polish Olympic spots situation?? IN men Cieplucha has been getting way better results and scores than Domanski this season and is now the national champion.. Will he go instead of Przemyslav??

In Ladies maybe Jurkiewicz is more safe since the new lady that beat her here is a virtual nobody.

Does anyone know why Mysliveckova & Novak did not skate in the ice dance championship? Are they injured?
