Effortless 3/3 from Miki! I don't know how they can practice with a audience like that....those poor Japanese skaters! Good think Morozov is taking back to America. Those little kids sure are cute though!

For those who miss Miki as she is ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWeKzVwBdrE - a clip about Miki's appearance in an upcoming movie "COACH". Miki will appear in one scene to encourage the main heroine and will skate with her. :)
I found this photo of Miki in a related article to the news above.

Taken last June, probably no makeups but so beautiful as she is without ! (At least to me.)

Sorry this has nothing to do with skating.

Agree, she is stunning
I wish she would agree to tone "down" a little bit the busy style in competition and try a different choreographer...but I guess that is unlikely to happen as long as she is with Morozov.I loved her style during 2004 (?) WC in Dortmund, very classy LP dress :agree:

Actually, as I mentioned on the previous page, Morozov chose the Hanamaki rink especially because of its remote location (normally Miki and Nobunari would practice at state-of-the-art Chukyo Rink and/or Kansai University Rink. They were built especially for the skaters and have great facilities, but they are also also more besieged by the media) and neither media, nor fans are allowed into the practice sessions. Yesterday was an exception - it was officially announced that fans will be allowed to come and watch and the media were allowed to film the practice and interview the skaters
.
I think it was a great idea - not only the skaters had an opportunity to do a run-through of their programs with difficult elements in semi-official conditions (under the pressure of the fans and media watching), but it also endeared the skaters to the local figure skating fans, and possibly created a few new ones. :)

It also made the mayor of the city a happy man, because he got a free promotion for the city. ;)

Mayor Ooishi Mitsuo (on the photo with Miki & Nobunari) said that he hopes that Hanamaki will be a lucky city for Oda and Ando and wished them to be in great condition at Olympics. The article mentions that Miki and Nobunari looked relaxed and laughed a lot.

It seems that Morozov doesn't design Miki's costumes any more. It was mentioned by the media that the "spider" SP/EX costume was Miki's idea; she also took part in creation of the LP costumes used at NHK and GPF. The GPF "tiara" was reportedly made by Miki's mother. I agree that simple costumes and less pronounced make-up would suit Miki more, but I think that she doesn't feel confident in her looks and tries to "hide" behind her costumes.

Miki's free skate, "Cleopatra", was actually co-choreographed by Morozov and Lea Ann Miller. Personally I really love this program when performed well, like at Stars, Stripes and Skates show:

According to Miki herself, she wasn't able to skate this program in competition the way it was choreographed because of nerves and injuries. I was amused that she judged her performance at GPF at "48%". Not 50, not 45, but 48. She's very precise, that's for sure!
