Definitely one of the best comebacks in figure skating, and it's not even over yet.
This woman is beyond compare. Aren't we lucky that she decided to show up again?
Interesting how her sp skate fitted so well to les mis. I think David will have a tough time coming up with the better of the Vancouver programs. Her 2013 skating was so good. Yuna can't lose if she goes clean like this. Speed plus jumps. I like her Sp costume more now. I wish they had gone with more color, more of a true period style costume with less sequins/glitter to keep with the character, tho for her LP. I'm very picky re this amazing stage musical (movie was tough0sad really) I love Les Mis -the music, the original book, everything about it is the best thing I have seen on stage, so I'm picky. I envisioned a white or beige top, maybe a navy bodice that laced in front or back, and a mauve colored skirt-much plainer than sequins, but that's figure skating. Gotta have glitz these days.
I really wonder if we will see a serious YuNa next year, or if there will be a light sexy piece where she uses her charm and smiles? Bond and Gershwin brought out her lighter side and her flirtatiousness-it connected well with audience. Wilson is a genius-he knows not to finagle with what works so I don't expect any great departures, but they make it sound "very different." I hate that we have to wait to September-cruel to her fans!!!!
Wonderful video. I'd add the step sequence of her SP at Worlds. That was insane.
Happy 23rd birthday, Yu-Na! There's about 3 hours left to go before her actual birthday, but still...
She attended an event today, which was a chance to meet her fans for a last time before Sochi.
At the last part of event, they showed a video which consisted of supportive&encouraging messages from her coaches&other Korean figure skaters. She cried at the end when they showed a message from her coaches, Jong-Hyun Ryu and Hea-Sook Shin.
Few words from Jong-Hyun Ryu(translated):
She(Yu-Na) is like a daughter to my life. I feel sorry that you(Yu-Na) have to train on your birthday, but let's achieve our goal.
Happy birthday, YuNa! And what a lovely thing for Ryu to say.

The photo is from newsletter for scholarship committee for children in Sudan. According to the newsletter, ‘Kim Yuna School’ for Sudan’s children is under construction. Yuna donated to help a campaign for “Building 100 schools in South Sudan” last year and one of the schools will be named the ‘Kim Yuna School.’
well done yuna!!
Oprah's people should contact Yu-Na. I think Oprah would really find Yu-Na fascinating. She's the current icon in the sport, a huge celebrity/trail blazer in her country, she's business-minded but very giving and kind, she's a humanitarian...Yu-Na is immensely complex but still very simple at her core and I think that's one of the things I like about her the most. She and Oprah would have a nice little chat! Besides, if Oprah interviewed Yu-Na Kim, everyone in the US would know who she was by the end of it.
yuna at the Korean national team media day for 2014 Winter Olympic Games D-100
from her q and a
-she is recovering from her injury and she can do jump training now, including the triples. she also said that her condition is good but only about 70%.. because the pain is still there..
-she was asked about mao (as always) about her score in SA.. yuna said that she's not in the right position to comment and thinks that all skaters including mao are putting their best efforts
- again she said that her LP is intense compared to her sp.. and now she's getting used to it..
- she's considering competing in dec (b tournament)..
