I'm practically vibrating with excitement! It's almost here.

I hope all of the skaters are at the top of their form. I hope the ladies' long program is as fall-free as that amazing final flight in last year's Olympics.

Go, skaters!

Yuna is going back to Korea on the 20th. Apparently according to Yuna's English forum, she's still going to train and expected to help Pyeonchang for their bid in London in the first week of April.

Can't wait to hear what Yuna's thoughts are on the current Worlds situation. I hope the Queen sends a strong message to Speedy that the Worlds be held not in October, but in the Spring.

If Yuna is going to Korea this Sunday (the 20th) then is she giving up on going to Worlds if it is scheduled for Spring? I don't know how she can continue to train while away from LA. Of course, she may have other obligations to address, so maybe she is trying to fit in a week or two doing those things until the ISU comes up with a final decision on Worlds.

Courtesy from marco/yuna's english forum..Yuna just arrived in Korea

Regarding the Worlds and Japan..

Yuna's airport interview translation:

"I have been training hard at the new training base in LA with my coach Peter Oppegard. I had a doubt if I would be able to regain my condition back to my Olympic shape, and I was able get there and was confident. I worked really hard and very disappointed. However, now there is a bigger thing than figure skating going on in Japan, and it is really important that the situation does not get worse over in Japan."

She said she will focus on helping the bid (Pyeonchang 2018) for now until ISU comes up with a backup plan for the 2011 worlds.

It's been a while since my last post (will post my thoughts on Bismarck soon, perhaps on a different thread). I was carried away with school and my translation work...

Yu-na's back in Korea. She's disappointed that Worlds has been postponed because it was extremely difficult for her to return to her arduous training regimen & raise her condition to almost Olympic-level. She's concerned for the other skaters who, just like her, have been training with March in mind. Regardless of whether Worlds will be held in May or October, it will be very difficult for skaters to train towards Worlds. She was confident in her performance because she had practiced so much. Still, she believes the competition is less important in light of the Japanese disaster. She hopes everyone in Japan comes out of this difficult time unharmed.

She's not sure about what she's going to do at the moment, but with no definite plan from Speedy, she's probably going to focus on Pyeong Chang's Olympic bid. She didn't have a clear answer for questions about the next season: must know what's happening with 2011 Worlds first.

She will show Giselle at her May ice show as planned and perhaps show a modified version of Arirang at the same event. While she's in Korea focusing on Pyeong Chang & her ice show, she will train by herself.

Yuna looks as fit and lovely as ever! It's obvious how hard she trained for this, with 3 new programs to showcase at the Worlds...

It eats my heart that the Worlds is not taking place right now...

Q: Your feeling on returning to Korea?

Yuna: It's been eight months, so I am little nervous. In LA, I was preparing very hard for the World Championships. It's disappointing not to have the Championship and return to Korea as I really prepared hard for it, but at this point, my bigger wish is that there is no further harm in Japan.

Q: How did you prepare for the Championship?

Yuna: This season being a post-Olympic year and also training in a new environment with a new coach, mentally, it was tough. Actually, it was more difficult than any other time. But as each month passed, my physical condition and program completeness got better and better, and the preparations went so well that I thought my condition could be as good as in the Olympics.

Q: Can we see you skate next season?

Yuna: As the status of the World Championships has not been resolved, I think it's too early talk about next season.

Q: When do you think the World Championships should be held?

Yuna: Every skater was optimizing her condition to peak in late March. With a change in schedule, there is bound to be some effect, and psychologically, it is draining. Whether it is held in May or in October, it may be difficult for skaters to once again train to achieve perfect condition.

Q: Wouldn't it be harder for you to prepare for the Worlds now, given your role in the Pyeongchang Olympic bid?

Yuna: Until the ISU makes its decision, I can't really do anything. But for now, I think I will need to concentrate on my role in the Pyoengchang Olympic Bid Committee.

Q: Will you show your new short program "Giselle" in the upcoming ice show?

Yuna: It's disappointing that I couldn't introduce it at the Worlds. But with the ice show coming in a month, I can't change it now, and I decided to go ahead and perform it.

Q: Will you perform a new gala at the ice show as well?

Yuna: A new gala program was completed around January-February. I will perform it at the ice show.

Q: Will you be training for the rest of the period without Coach Oppegard?

Yuna: I think I can train alone. Usually, after coming back to Korea after the end of each season, I trained alone.

Q: As the Public Ambassador for Pyeongchang Olympic Bid, what will you be doing?

Yuna: I will be in London in April for the international convention, then in Switzerland in May for the Rosan meeting. In July, I will participate in the IOC meeting in South Africa.

Q: So you will not show your new long program this time?

Yuna: I can't perform the full long program, but I hope to perform a modified version of it during a show in the near future.

Q: Any words to the fans?

Yuna: I am sorry not being able to compete after so much expectation. I am disappointed that I cannot show the result of my preparation. But the situation in Japan is really difficult now, and it is not right to think about the competition first. I pray and hope that people in Japan do not suffer any more harm.

Yuna: Since I couldn't perform at the Worlds, I will work twice as hard for the May ice show, and show my best at the ice show.

It is good to hear from Yuna. However, it almost seems like she has given up on performing at Worlds. Perhaps, if the ISU makes a decision soon, Yuna may be able to compete, we'll just have to wait and see. Because of Yuna's involvement with the Korean Olympic bid, she may not be as flexible with her schedule as other skaters can be, but I continue to hope that if Worlds is held after all this year that Yuna will be able to attend and compete.

I believe thus far, the only IOC related event Yu-na will attend in May is a technical briefing that will be May 18-19. But, this isn't definite yet... much of her Pyeonchang schedule, save for a meeting in the beginning of April (which we know will definitely not coincide w/even a rescheduled Worlds; we're probably looking at either May/October). If Speedy can release a statement by Monday as in a definite postponment date and alternate site/cancellation, I'm pretty sure she can decide her IOC schedule from there, especially since she did say that she'd try her best to fit her schedule around whatever the ISU decides :3

Oh, some pictures of her arriving in Korea...

She definitely looks like she's back in Olympic/competitive shape... shame these couldn't be pictures of her arriving in Tokyo for Worlds :(

I had hard time logging in too. Apparently one of the moderators emailed me that someone is trying to hack the forum. It's like a deja vu again! :disapp: I hope they can resolve the issue soon. I'm not a regular poster though I always visited the site because majority of the posters over there are not crazy fans like we used to. They're more respectful.

Anyway.. Yuna news
