It seems like it was a day where those with experience had all the nerves and faltered - Rena/John, Keana/Rockne, Amanda/Mark, Brook/Ben.
The inexperienced seemed to have much better days. Free program should be very interesting.

I think experience isn't that important if you are well-matched and both individually strong skaters...especially if your experienced competition have weak jumps/throws.
Wow, Keauna & Rockne! What are their chances now of making the Olympic team? They are about 10/11 points behind the leaders and second place. Ouch.
OMG ;who is gonna be on the olympic team
LOL; this completely messes up my fantasy pic
I applaud the judges for not holding a team based on reputation...the FS and Olympic team selections should be interesting now, since Caitlin and John have STRONGLY staked their claim. Keauna and Rockne really haven't been too solid this year at any competition, something the selection committee should keep in mind.
SHOCKER: Mcl/Bru will need a miracle to finish in 2nd. It will be interesting to see what the Selection Cttee will do about this. It seems that Keanu is guaranteed to fall in every competition. She needs to work on her jump landings by developing muscles in her legs.
On a more positive note, I noticed the improvements in all the Teams and I think the USA will have a top team for Socci. It's like the slow rise of US Skate Dancers who have now come into their own, and have become strong contenders. It's Pairs turn now.
Looking forward to the LPs.
What. Was. That. lol. Weird event.
I would also hope they keep in mind that NO American pairs have looked overly solid at any competitions this season, and Keauna and Rockne have consistently had the highest American scores. Their great qualities are not based around skating cleanly. However, they need to not have another meltdown in the LP. No more falling on death spirals. With a good skate, they should be fine. They can make up a 10 pt deficit. They may not win, but they surely can get top 2 with a solid skate. I hope they aren't too down right now, but I'm sure skating so uncharacteristically poorly must sting. They need to just think positively for the long and skate how they've been skating in practice. I don't believe a bizarre SP at one competition should keep a country's top team off the Olympic team... It just shouldn't, IMO.

I'm impressed with Dobbs/Jacobsen; Aaron/Cohen; Moyle/Pottenger.
I just realized that I forgot to submit my picks for fantasy skating. Bummer.
Yikes I just checked in on this. Well I think Rena and John have a chance at another Oly team if they are clean. McL and Bru are buried. No way they are going to Olys.
