Wow. Joannie still has not gotten on her feet. This season is truning out very badlu for her and with each bad skate the pressure gets worse. Such a pity because that SP is just beautiful. Cynthia just might win this thing!

Joannie benefited from the difficulty of her choreography and transitions and her exceptional skating skills. Sad that the Lutz continues to haunt her this season. Good thinking to turn the solo 3flip into her combination jump, which earned 8.13 points. Her 2Axel earned her 5 points. Her levels were good - level 3 on the layback spin and straight-line footwork sequence and level 4 on her other 2 spin elements and on her spiral sequence. She'll have to do much better in Vancouver!

Remember, Joannie was 2nd after the SP last season too and came roaring back in the LP with a perfect skate while Cynthia unfortunately tanked. Who knows what will happen this year though with the rough seasons both of them have been through?

Still a bit disappointed she fell on the lutz, though if she skates fairly well in the free and shows she is ready for olympics then she should be able to put the mistake behind her. Well done Cynthia though.

Was anyone able to see all of her performance and her reaction afterwards in the kiss and cry? Was she angry at herself and looking forward to the LP or are her spirits totally down? She has to come back in the LP for her confidence!

She didn't look angry, nor did she she look down in the dumps.

I think she knows she can come back from this and is still confident.

Hopefully she can skate a clean long, although I would like to see Cynthia hold on, it'd be a great confident boost for her.

I thought she was pretty unemotional actually. While waiting for her marks Shae Lynn and Manon were just talking to her. It was sort of hard to hear but I think they were just reinforcing what she did right. I think she probably knows what she did wrong!
