Rylie McCulloch-Casarsa WO: “Ever After” (soundtrack, I think)

2a
3s+2t
3t+2t+2loop
nice spin, though slow flow out
3loop
okay spiral
walley jump (I think) to 2A+2t
3t (laboured but delivered)
okay spin
SLSS
2A
okay spin

She's proud. She's got some presence, but I found it a little dull. She simply skated from element to element. Of course, she landed said elements, no urs (it's her birthday – sweet sixteen, so thats good. She's very happy). The audience is singing happy birthday.

I think that the women's skaters in our country move up into the senior ranks way too soon. There's no reason why some of these ladies can't still be competing in the junior ranks and try to get some success there. Moving into senior with only a couple of triples is setting yourself up for disappointment.

She'll get better with her interpretation of the music and emotion with time. It's her first year as a senior, and has a very good jumping technique. I'm looking forward to seeing her in the coming years.

A few thoughts from the arena...keeping in mind that I'm not a technical specialist, just someone who enjoys skating! The first flight of ladies was a mix of results. For me Najarro has a grace on the ice that is beyond her age. She had some difficulties with jumps but I look forward to seeing her in years to come. Mckenzie had a tough skate...nothing more to say. Rylie looked like she enjos being on the ice, something many of the ladies don't show! Nice skate, and on her 16th bday too! I've seen Erin in years past, and she was much better. She is tall (for a skater) but doesn't use the nice lines she could. Kristy seemed happy to be in the ice--noticed that yesterday too!

PBP ers:

we love you :bow::thumbsup:

:agree:

PBP does it mean "play by play"? Sounds like a strange name for doing comments.

Also wondering:
On this page it says patinage artistique will be shown at 0 H 00. Does that mean midnight? I thought it meant midday. I could watch the announced alpine skiing earlier today.

Seems like a lot of the Canadian ladies do not even attempt the more difficult triples.

Hopefully more will in the later in this flight and in the last one. Najarro landed 3F, and attempted - but singled - a triple lutz.

She's got some nice qualities, and she's very striking, but she looks very disappointed. She needs a hug.

She singled/doubled a few jumps, but it's easy to see why people were excited by her. She's got presence, speed, and some musicality. Lovely spins. Needs more difficulty, more expression, but she didn't bore me, and tonight that's an achievement. Potential, this one has. Look forward to seeing how she progresses.
