    Thin Ice reality skating competition

I poked around but didn't see an existing topic on this show - apologies if I missed one.

Thin Ice is a new pro skating reality competition that's going to air on ABC this March. They're taking 12 pro skaters and pairing them together (but not with their existing partners) to skate two 2-minute long programs designed to entertain the audience. They're airing it live from Foxwoods casino on Fri, Mar. 19 from 8-9PM on ABC, and the finals on Sun. Mar. 21 from 7-8PM on ABC. Viewer voting will comprise 50% of the vote, and the judges' vote will comprise the other 50%.

The hosts for the show are Kurt Browning and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
The judges are Dick Button, Katarina Witt, and Kristi Yamaguchi.
They've announced 7 of the 12 skaters: Shae-Lynn Bourne, Shizuka Arakawa, David Pelletier, Michael Weiss, John Zimmerman, Jamie Sale, and Patrice Lauzon. I think they're waiting for the Olympics to announce the full line-up.

Tickets are on sale now through the Foxwoods site. They're selling tickets to both live televised shows as well as five "dress rehearsal" shows, which I guess are for them to coordinate and practice all the elements of the show so the live telecasts will go smoothly. The dress rehearsals are Thursday night, Fri afternoon, Sat afternoon and night, and Sun afternoon. As I discovered when I stumbled across the tix being on sale last week, some sections at some of the shows are already sold out.

I've got all the info and links I've found collected on my site:

There's a Facebook fan page and Twitter for the show, as well as the Foxwoods ticket pages and event info page.

It's about time there was another professional figure skating competition even if it is a reality one. Why or why is there no more Landover? :(
