The one thing that VANOC was hoping for was a good dump of snow like we had last winter. Unfortunately that did not happen this winter. It is an El Nino winter which means a typical rainy, mild winter for us. It's great that we don't have the snow down here on the Streets because that would be chaos to get around, however, the snow on the Mountains is starting to recede. VANOC does keep reassuring everyone that the snow making machines will be ready to go into action and that there is enough snow stored up on top of the mountains. Even so the pictures we see every night on the news don't look that great. I sure hope the skiers and snow boarders are not watching!
