Former figure skater and HUGE figure skating fan.
A quick question: for two years Fedor Andreev has unsuccessfully been trying to represent Azerbaijan in international competition. We know he's still training obviously... why doesn't he consider going back and representing Canada again?
I think Fedor no longer believes he has what it takes to qualify for the Canadian National team, his last attempt likely conviced him of that. Skating for another country was likely his last shot at getting to an Olympics.
It's a good question though - was he still eligible to compete for Canada this year, given that he never ended up competing for Azerbaijan? If so, then even if the competition would be tough, why not at least give it a shot at Canadiann Nationals?

At minimum he would have had to become a Skate Canada member again. He would have had to make this decision about the beginning of October as thats when the forms for Sectionals are typically due. And he would have had to qualify through Sectionals and Challenge to get to Nationals.
