PHEW!! Finally made it here. Fresh off of editing the Ladies' SP footage that aired this afternoon...you know, TWO years in a row something out of my control prevented me from recording this event. And it very nearly became three years in a row...thanks to my DVR and my (very) spotty signal strength all of a sudden :banging: and the DVR feed broke up a few times as well. So I had to sit there and try to edit (splice) some of the coverage together. While the frames matched up, the audio was not quite in sync :banging: oh well, better than nothing. Rachel Flatt's skate in particular...Oh well, my finished product is ok, but the audio skips slightly in two spots in Flatt's program and one spot in Cohen's. Dropped frame in the intro too...and to top it off, my DVR shut off abruptly (luckily I did not lose what I recorded!!!! I would have been pissed)

Argh, this is just me yapping but it had a strange effect of calming my nerves down for tonight. Of course, as soon as I finished, I started getting nervous again

oh well, bring on the FS

It's a personal opinion but blue just isn't right for Swan Lake. Black or white are the only colors acceptable for that piece of music. Mayby she and Blake Rosenthal should have switched. That blue would have worked nicely for Debussy.

ITA about the colors. Blue for Clair de Lune for sure!

RD, you missed some curvaceous beauties! Too bad!

Cesario did great. Her choreo does not really take advantage of that lively, flirtatious music, though, although she had a nice witty conclusion. Tara noted that she needs more power. But no falls and very good overall. Into first? ETA: Nope. Third.

Great job for Cesario. I think the lutz was on the wrong edge, but I don't think I care. I have been pleasantly surprised by her skating.

That beautiful skater Samantha that just went got robbed. She had by far the best program with 5 triples and gets a 74 for her FS and finishes almost 10 points behind Becky who had a lot of mistakes. Too bad.

So excited for the last two groups!

I think Samantha should have been first, but both her 3F and her 3Lz looked cheated.

Damn.

I guess I can see it after the fact...the editing process (this is HD footage, it can be a beast to work with) took me until almost 8pm to finish, then I had to shower, etc...so here I am, just finding out the feed is over and telling me to watch on NBC. Anyway...I'm ready to go...I seriously haven't been this nervous for US Nats since 2004-

Well, I've got to conserve computer resources so I can capture this telecast in beautiful HD. So I'm signing off...maybe I'll chime in during commercial breaks but my eyes will be mostly on the TV. So long and good luck everyone

Well if the broadcast is starting in 5 minutes everywhere else, that means that my local station is tape delaying by an hour. So I think I will go away and get some work done. My laundry is calling. Have fun everyone.

Good luck to all the Toodlebumps. Oh, and Sasha too.
