Sasha in the lead so far with Yukina Ota in 2nd. Surprising that BOTH Sokolova and Arakawa are behind Ota.

That's huge for Ota! As much as I like Arakawa, I think that she is already at her peak, whereas Yukina is just getting started.

Does anyone know. Is Yukina Ota the first to land a quad?
Daniel and Little Lulu
That would be Miki Ando.![]()
Sasha and Ota were head and shoulders above everyone tonight.
Joannie Rochette will be podium material someday soon.
I can't believe CTV didn't show Arakawa or Sebestyen.
Ouch for Jen!
Oh my GOD... Jennifer Robinson.... I hope she has the skate of her life tomorrow.
Ah Ha said the Joesitz. I picked Ota for the win (not exactly believing she might). There was something in that Jr GP last year that said yes this one is special.

There are good yellows and bad yellows ... this is a bad one, IMO. Too bad, because the design of the dress is beautiful (from these pics, anyway). I love the skirt.

The years of Sasha getting the hype will be coming to an end. Last week she was outskated by Jennifer Kirk. Come on Ota! You can win this thing! You can be the golden girl this week.
I think Ota has potential to be the next Olympic gold winner. Forget Ms. Cohen. I hope Ota blows them all away.
As much as I'd like to see Ota win, I'd say this time it's out of reach. She'd have to beat Cohen in the FP by at least 7.22.
I agree with dewet. But I surely hope she holds on to 2nd! Anyhow, she has a guaranteed spot in the ABC and TSN broadcast in both LP and SP! Wheeeeeeeeeeee
Tharrtell. Hmm. I see what you mean. But are there any examples of "good yellows" for figure skating costumes?
MM
PS. Is Candice Didier any relation to the president of the French Figure Skating Association?

Gee I've seen competitions before but are SC and MK now competing to see who can come up with the ugliest shade of yellow?
Mathman the only good yellow IMHO is a very pale butter yellow. Even then you need just the right coloring to pull it off.

I like canary yellow with gold sequins! Looks best on guys, though. I can see Anthony Quinn wearing that.
