Oh shoot. This was meant to be Mao's night of redemption.
I have no doubt that she will get herself together for a stunning LP though I think she has the gold medal practically bagged. She's always stronger in the LP anyway.
I wish I could see tonight's program. Her 3A must have been DGed? (her score). Did it look URed to you? When do you think it will be up?

I always thought Mirai's PCS should be higher than Mao's this season and it happened. (obviously different competitions but there's a remarkable difference). Too bad about Mao's popped jump but I think Mao's problems are much deeper than just the jumps, unfortunately...

Is it just me, or were the performances here far worse than those of the often-maligned Euros ladies? I mean, I know it's an Olympic year so half the field is elsewhere - but seriously, this is just sad.

But I thought she had gained speed by the time of Natls? Did she skate tentatively? That's unexpected. This is a second-tier competition. She should've skated with conviction and confidence.

This has been one of the messiest (in terms of skating) competitions I've watched so far.

However, kudos to Dobbs for an impressive senior debut!

How can you even compare Nats to and interbationals competition..? Maybe comparing Nats to Nats would make more sense... I'm not in agreement about Mirai getting higher PCS in general - maybe PE or IN if she's on fire, bur in terms of SS Mirai's not quite up to the level of Mao/YuNa/Miki/Joannie/CaroK, etc. (though I'm sure she'll get better in time, she's still young and better than most girls her age).
