bigsis..you are a master of understatement...

And someone one on the judging panel is a master of rug-pulling. I don't begrudge the Hubbells they performed well..but the #2 Chinese team...? That was would be wire-fu on ice...?!?

I don't wonder the poor kids looked stunned.

I really like Chock and Zuerlein but this was far from their best performance.

Huang / Zheng ..great looking couple but I don't know what that costume or dance had to do with Zorba or Greek folk dance...Clash of the Titans , maybe ?

ITA.. For so much thats been said about DomShabs OD, I havent seen any complain during the whole season about this team dancing to Zorba the Greek dressed as some random characters in Troy or 300 movies.. it makes them seem even a bit ignorant, why not take a few minutes in doing a little research??

And while we're at it, Summersett/Gilles routine (and also the one from the young russian team IlynikhKatsalapov) is also a major fail at authenticity in the OD. Great dancers and they skate really well but the costumes are far from authentic to the rythm they are portraying and there's hardly anything in the coreography resembling Peruvian /South American folk dance. I guess they are just fans of the Duchesnays but the thins is it worked for them since it was a FD which means a free interpretation of the music (Missing is one of my all time fave programs for the record) but as and OD where you are supposed to be true to the character, the choreo is just bad.

Choreography, etc, by Linichuk again, yes?. Not a great believer in authenticity in folk OD, apparently., that Linichuk.

I am completely baffled over R/H score The looks on their faces when they got their marks shows that they have no clue what happened either. I mean really - they skated that program flawlessly - just as they did at the JGPF and Canadians. They scored 48.84 at the JGPF - where there technical score was almost 27 points. How did they drop that much?? It just makes no sense.

    R/h

Maybe the ISU Judging is what happened, true judging not home judging.

They must have lost levels somewhere.

7 points less though? I watched this performance and their JPF and Canadians performance and they looked the same to me. They are very strong technicians. I will be very curious to see those protocals...

Possibly, if they only got level 1 and 2 things (right?).

In the Crotia and Lake Placid events they had two level 2s in the original dance - and received technical marks of 27.53 and 26.70. Their lift and twizzles are exactly the same as they have been doing all year. They have gotten a level 4 on both of these elements at every competition this year.

It really seems to me that a wrong button was hit or something...

They're from Canada. They posted the 48+ in Japan and the Junior Grand Prix Final.

If the technical controller inputed the wrong level on a step sequence, that could concievably drop a mark three or four points.
