Diane Szmiett CAN 4CC Long
Very pop classical piece of music, whose name I can't remember, doubling a planned triple lutz; nice triple sal; steps out of a triple flip; triple toe double toe double toe combo timed exactly to three music notes; triple sal double toe combo; two double axel sequence, nice; steps out of a triple toe, fully turned I believe; tidy in her spin PJ says; very complex foot work PJ says; this will be a little lower than Lacoste I think. PJ says she has beautiful arms and a graceful skater (PJ is always nice skaters
) Score is 48.64/42.64=91.28 140.10 Total Currently 2nd

Okay, they just showed her up close, and it's not Mao, but some other pretty young skater.
Actually the feed is not that bad, just a little slow-motionish.

I agree about Myriane. Good skate!
There seems to be a Canadian school of ladies' skating. They are all very athletic, strong, and fit. Very good overall skaters and not without elegance, but what is usually summed up with the word "artistry" is not their strong suit - they are solid rather than exquisite. I guess that's what the Canadian coaches/association/govt? seek out and encourage.

Myriane Samson CAN 4CC Long
8th place after the short; skating to "Time Goes By" Canadian National Bronze medalist; triple loop, beautiful quality; triple flip nice; triple loop, double loop double loop combo very well done; triple flip double toe combo; she is really controlling her jumps takes her time in the set up; but doubled the next lutz; nice triple sal (?) I think; nice energy and good changes of edges in straight line sequence ending with double axel double axel, good job; A great skate, that's beautiful. If she did that with a good short, she would have beat Cynthia Phaeneuf and make it to the Olympics; oh well. Cynthia is good too. Score is 55.06/44.24=99.30 total150.90 Currently in 2nd place.

Crazy skate from Kwak as well. Even looking at her national competitions, she's never skated a long program anywhere close to that level.
