Didn't Inman think about the possible back fire before he did it?

OK, I have one more question.

Joe Inman is a native English speaker, right? Would he say "Tale tell in my opinion" or "When he says 'we don't have any transitions' what does that translate into a mark?"

^ As I understand it the question was about the Transitions component. Chan does have pretty good transitions.

Obviously they don't think that Chan is a threat to their own skaters.

Oh , here we go...Mathman, I'm with you..have we forgotten Russian - French Quid Pro Quo..? I also very much doubt that a professional of Mr.Inman's standing would punctuate a missive to his peers like an avid poster from a fan forum..

But stir up a controversy beforehand to provide a rationalization for eventual over-marking ? That, I'm afraid is all too believeable , based on multiple past occasions. Where's the email ?

If this email was sent in regard to the judging at the Euros..why would Chan be mentioned in any respect ? Anyway , I think transitions are maybe the last area where you could criticize his scores .

Why doesn't this surprise me! The Americans and Canadians are so desperate and insecure. Not only this competition is tainted but the entire figure skating one. Too bad this is going to backfire.

and one more question..why they put the script of the email all torn and gray like it is a papyrus from 100 B.C.? I have the newspaper, this is the article indeed, I spent most of the time watching the picture though

Why indeed! Here they go again, Gailhaguet and Piseev, the Tweedledee and Tweedledom of figure skating.

I think L'equipe is trying to set up or stir up something here to make it look like there was unfair bias towards the N. American skaters when the PC scores come up. From what I read there, that's a private email between a few judges (the "ciao Joe" is indicative) and what they've published offers no proof it even came from Inman. They've published an excerpt here and used it as evidentiary proof that the N American judges plan to slam the Europeans. To me this is an email between one or two judges where they're upset that someone (doesn't even say who) basically had no transitions in his (or her!) program, yet were rewarded for them. If that happened, it's fair for them to be discussing it. L'equipe is blowing this way out of proportion to stir up contoversy and backpeddle should Chan, Abbott or Lysacek finish ahead of their guys. I wonder how an article in Sports Illustrated would play out in the European media if it profiled Joubert as a figure jumper who doesn't change his program to fit the new judging system then whines and complains after the event (in fact, even a year later) that he was beaten by someone who did make sure his program followed the guidelines of the ISU.

Good to know oxade is back with the Canada-baiting (despite the fact that as near as I can tell, there's no comment in the email about Canadian skaters, Canadian judges, etc). Mathman, I suspect that the problem with the comment is that it's likely been translated twice: into French/Russian from English for the L'Equipe, and then back to English. I wouldn't dismiss concerns based on an odd turn of phrase.

This whole thing seems preposterous(sp). I can't believe Joe Inman would stoop so low, and actually bother himself to send out messages of that kind. And secondly, why would the receivers of such messages obey such strange orders? it would be a losing proposition for Inman no matter if he did or didn't do this crazy mailings. I contend, it is a set up to get even with the 2002 Olys which found France guilty and Russia a prime suspect in that collusion of the Pairs competition. Their cheating schemes revealed

Inman has been judging for years and also officiates at international competitions. He is a specialist in music and that it why the culprit(s) chose him as their accused.

Along w/ Joe Sitz's theory... here's a Christine Brennan article from Salt Lake. Pay attention to the last 4 paragraphs. Now can we see why the French and Russian federations might be doing some dog wagging?

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/comme...25-brennan.htm

This email, from what I can read of it (very little) is responding to Plushenko's whining after Euro's about Brian Joubert's PCs. The judge is saying Plushenko's transitions were so poor they were basically non-existent and that the mid-7s he received were probably pretty generous. I'm failing to see where this is influencing the entire Olympic judging panel. We also don't know the context of this email. L'equipe claims it was sent to 60 judges/ISU officials. Well, was it? Was there an original email emanating from ISU in response to Plushy's prss conference and Inman was just responding? Who knows? If L'equipe won't print the entire email, how can we know what the context was? They claim it says a lot of things that aren't in that excerpt. The only skater it discusses is Plushenko and only in response to Plushenko's complaining about his PCs.

I think it's also important to note that, if this was the scandalous email it's made out to be, no major news media has picked up this story by my searches, and it would have by now since it's being discussed on message boards. If this was some kind of smoking gun that cheating was going to go on at the Olympics, I think it would be all over the media by now.

the funny thing is that it is not quoted from plushenko's press conference, he didnt say anything like that in press conference, it is quoted from a post euro interview/conference in bratislava in absolute skating site. I had commented on this in plushy thread.

Where he says that he sometimes doesnt get the new judging, why joubert is having more transitions mark than him when basically they need to prepare for the quad (or the jumps i dont remember), and they dont have any! I dont agree that he mentioned joubert on this and he should have spoken about himself, yet i found hilarious the "i dont have transitions' comment, here is the interview and the whole fuss.

Well, it seems Brennan is agreeing with me on the revenge of the SLC collusion theory against Inman.
What does Inman have to do with Euros? should be answerd first, imo.
I think it should be investigated before the Olys start to clear the air. We really don't need another scandal.
It could also be a dumb prank and France and Russia had nothing to do with it. Let's find out.
