So, internationally, Domnina/Shabalin have had the highest scored Compulsory Dance this season, followed by Belbin/Agosto and Davis/White. Although they haven't competed yet this season, Delobel/Shoenfelder have long been very consistent Compulsory Dance skaters. Davis and White finished first in the tango romantica at Nebelhorn trophy, Rostelecom Cup, and NHK. The only copy of them skating it is at Rostelecom, where Crone / Poirier also competed.

Delobel and Schoenfelder did a monitoring session with the TR this week, and skated it at Europeans in 2006, for sure, although they have not competed this dance (or any other) this year.

Belbin & Agosto did not compete the TR this year. They won the Tango Romantica CA at 4CC's in 2006, but I couldn't find a video of it. They do share training ice with DomShabs, and coach Linichuk, so they should be well aware of what the TR should look like and how to do it.

However, the PCS marks are fairly understandable to the average fan.
And as to "syncopation" in tango dancing, the following link is useful. Not that Grishuk and Platov use quite strong syncopation, and as such, impart a really nice tango character to their Tango Romantica.Skating Skills

For example, in Tango, we have the "and-moment", when we suspend before surging. The engagement with our partner (both leader & follower) comes ahead of the first beat of the music. Musically, the bandoneon starts wheezing before the musician stomps his leg to punctuate the "1". If tango didn't have this suspension and surge, it feels flat.
Grishuk & Platov certainlly had good technique and good speed but this is a more "romantic" tango and there was nothing in their performance here that looked like they even knew each other! I preferred Klimova & Ponomarenko's version, good technique, not as fast but they actually looked like they enjoyed skating this dance together.

Yes, the dance is supposed to be more romantic than the Argentine, for example. However, I found K&P's ability to convey the character of the dance a bit inferior to G&P. We are talking about two all time great teams here, so of course both are excellent.
YMMV, however, as both performances are great.
After watching most of the clips so graciously provided my predictions after the CD are:
Domina Shabalin. Given the fact that Domina and Shabalin have already skated this dance recently, and done it well, I predict the will once again, do it well and be well rewarded.
Virtue and Moir. A dance like this plays to their strengths.
Belbin and Agosto. I think the international judges prefer their long leg line to Davis and White's speed.
Davis and White. Just 10ths of a point behind 3rd.
