Tanith/Ben will have the toughest job, skating after the home team.

Is there a detailed starting order with precise starting times? I couldn't find one, but it's really helpful for us Europeans to know when we have to get up!

LOL at your nicknames for some of the dancers!!

All things being equal, Heaven forbid DomShabs placing ahead of V/M.

GO GO TEAM SHPILBAND! Also sending good vibes Baby Italians, DelSchoes, Kerrs and B/A!

Go everyone! And may the placements fall where they deserve to be. (Which is hopefully with V/M and D/W on the podium).

ITA. I think I can predict that their free skate will seem flat compared to Virtue/Moir. If B/A couldn't get a great response from the crowd at US National's, I just don't see how their program will get a huge response in Canada. No standing ovation for them.

I am really saddened that it has come to this for such a talented pair. I was thinking over the past 4 years how Belbin/Agosto just haven't lived up to their potential. They should have changed their coach right after the Olympics. It just seems like they coasted for 2 years after Torino. Then, they changed coaches in 2008 and it was just too late. It makes me so angry that they basically became the Christopher Bowman of ice dancing. A few world medals here and there, stumbles that took them out of world podium contention, abrupt changes in coaching that took them nowhere. I just remember Klimonova/Pomerenko changed their coaches when they realized that their programs weren't working before it was too late. They made drastic changes and they had an unforgettable skate in 1992.

I began thinking of Platov as a coach they could have gone to after the 2006 Olympics. I think he's still in New Jersey and from what I understand Pasha and him were considered pretty good technicians. He could have helped B/A on the technical side, while not creating crappy programs like Linichuk. He doesn't have any elite skaters, so B/A could have been his #1 focus. Thus he could have politicked the judges for them exclusively.

It just makes me so sick to think of what could have been for Tanith and Ben...

I don't think Tanith and Ben changed TOO LATE, they just picked the wrong coach period.

Which coach do you think B/A should have chosen? That is still here in the US, I mean? I've been trying to think about it ever since the original dance.

ETA: I think they should have gone to another coach earlier b/c their technique didn't improve the two years after Torino. It would have taken a LOT of work to get them to pass the Bulgarians and French in those years, but I think it was doable. Such wasted talent.

I consider their free dance as a dirge of their careers. A funeral if you will. Not the way I would have wanted for them to exit from the amateur stage.

It would be one because their FD is to religous music (despite dressing like a showgirl and Elvis at a cheesy Vegas casino)

Ah if you think the OD have catchy music, get ready for:
5 famous melodies from movies (POTO from Merlie, Godfather 2 from Rica & Massi, Death In Venice from Voir, Double Life Of Veronique for DomShabs, and Schindler's List from Zaretsky-squared)
3 Requiems (Baby Italians, Nat & Fab, and DomShabs)
2 Adagios (baby Russians and some Chinese pair)
a Linkin Park hit from 10 years ago (Kerr-squared)
a mix of some PCD songs (Hoffmann/Zavozin)
and my personal favorite.... an over the top Johnny Hallyday song (Voidy Ukrainians)!

Ah the wonderful world of Ice Dance! :p:cool::agree:

Oh, don't even get me started with their costumes. Perfect description for them though. I think they should have gone with the costume that they had earlier in the seaon.

If they could, Tanith and Ben should sue Linichuk for malpractice. Although in the end, it's their responsibility that they consented to performing these programs. They should have changed both their OD and FD after Skate America when they saw that they were receiving scores behind both V/M and D/W.

With that said, I hope that Virtue and Moir and Davis/White skate their hearts out tonight. I prefer V/M's program and think it could be as memorable for me as Klimonova and Pomerenko's but we shall see.

I agree. Ave Maria is just not a good fit for them. The music is drab and choregraphy is boring. I wish they'd gone back to their FD from 2007-2008 season. I think it was one of their best.

I feel bad for them because they started out with such promise and now their programs seem to be regressing. I was hoping they'd be on the podium here, but unless one of the pairs ahead of them have trouble I think they'll remain in fourth.
