But all is not well in the Asada-Plushenko courtship! A challenger appears! A number of years back, Phillipe Candeloro skated as a pirate in an ice show that Mao also appeared in, perhaps there was also an innocent smooch, so fans have decided that pirate Candeloro is a suitable rival for Plushenko. How is a girl to choose between two dashing and daffy suitors?

But wait! There's another wrinkle. Mao has also been shipped with... Yu Na. Some people, perhaps sick of the media and fan-driven rivalry between the two, or perhaps just playing off such tensions, have decided that Mao and Yu Na would make a sweet couple. So this love triangle is now a quadrangle, with both Yu Na and Phillipe incensed at Mao and Plushenko's PDA. Oh what a tangled... etc.
