 it's just a sheet of paper with a bunch of names on it.

The only event I stayed up late for was the Nationals SP. Before that, probably have to go back to 2006 or earlier the last time I stayed up 'till the wee hrs of the morning to "follow" a skating event.

True, but it's not like I have anything else exciting going on. I watch every astros game on tv even though they suck, just because i'm a sports fanatic. It's too bad too, I don't get a lot of sleep because i'm always up late watching random sporting events.

There's always the World Cup... :3

Now it's less than 3 and a half hours away. They already have the result so North and South Americans are just being forced to stay awake so that the ISU web admin can get decent sleep before publishing it.

Hmm. Mixed Reactions. NHK seems to be the biggest challenge, and if anyone was given a gift, I'd say it was Czisny. When she is on, she is one of the greatest figure skaters ever....it's just those nerves. However, we know that she CAN do well on the GP Circuit, and she was placed into GPs that give her truly a great chance to do well...she may not win them, with Kim and Asada, but she could do well enough for GPF. Wagner has a good battle for her first, but her second isn't as difficult. Surprising to see Musademba...no Meissner, but there is that blank USA spot at Skate America. And, just for the record...I miss when the GPs were in the exact same order every year, starting off with Skate America.

And, have there always been only 8 spots for Pairs? I feel like that's real small...maybe it's just me, haha. McLaughlin/Brubaker seems to have a showdown for Silver with Denney/Barrett at SA, and their first competition not as difficult, so they too could see the GPF. And while Davis/White should be fine, I'm excited to see the new Russian couple and how they will match up, as well as where Chock/Zuerlein are now. =]

Yuna, Miki, Akiko and Alena ... the're all together in BOTH CoC and CoR !!

Yuna may still be undecided as to her participation in the GP series, no?
While we don't see JoRo's name on the list.

16 slots for USA and 13 for Japan.
Kanako got 2 but is alone without her compatriots in Skate America.
Both Fumie and Haruka got 2 assignments each which is a surprise for me !!
One TBA for Team Japan at NHK.
Several TBAs here and there as usual.

I'm guessing we'll see plenty of withdrawals....I'm thinking Johnny, Yu-Na, Plushenko, Pang/Tong & the Zaretskis.

For TBA spots:
FRA: Amodio in the men; Marroco & Meite if they have good outings in their first event. Canac/Bonheur for the pairs??
RUS: Ladies, no clue. Men, no idea. Pairs and dance, I'm thinking Khoklova/Andreev and Mukhortova/Blanchard, if they're ready.
USA: Men, not sure...Ladies, one of Gilles, Dobbs or Musademba if they do well earlier. Maybe Maxwell, as a really long shot, and if she does well over the summer. I'm guessing Zhang/Toth for the pairs, as they were the junior champs, did well last year and didn't get an initial assignment.
JPN: Takahashi/Tran  maybe Nana Takeda in the ladies. But I also like Ayumi Goto, and unlike Nana, she's got all of the triples, and beat her a Nationals.
CAN: Ladies is kind of a mess...maybe Adriana DeSanctis. Duhamel/Radford for pairs.
CHN: Cong/Han, since they only got one event.

Other thoughts.
- The NHK dance field is really deep. I hope Ilinykh/Katsalapov can do well here and medal! I agree that it's the toughest event overall. Love the mens field; it has all my favorites except Joubidoo and Tomas.
- SA has great fields in dance & men. Pairs is nice, and it has Aliona & Robin, the new world junior champs and a battle between D/B & M/B. Ladies is a snoozefest...I'm hoping for a Laura/Kanako/Kostner or Kwak podium in that order, but I'm guessing it won't happen.
- I hope Alessandrini/Vaturi can get a second event.
- I'm glad Frohberg/Giesen and Turoczi/Major both got assignments, as they has quite respectable seasons last year, and were my favorites among the ice dance teams outside the top 10 at JW. Nice to see Tibbetts/Brubaker get one too, as they're probably my favorite of the American junior teams last year.
- Nice to see that all the Russian young teams that were eligible for an event got one. Novik/Kuznetsov are voidy.

Plush has 1 spot and that's of course CoR. He's not invited elsewhere, which probably is his own wish.
And no Evan. Is he retiring for good?

Ponsero has retired???Where is he? :(
I thought Pang Tong and Weir retired. And why Plush is on the list, he has said he wont compete the next season, is Pisseev tricks that?

Teb is not very exciting like last year but I hope Amodio gets the TBA there

I just noticed, no Bradley?? The best Usa man that won me over, everybody retires!:scowl:
