Ksenia and Carolina are both stunningly beautiful and I'm a fan of both, but I tend to believe that Makarova should have the advantage between the two. Yes, Caro's overall skating quality is better than Makarova's at this point in their respective skating careers, but when you compare the technical merit on the jumps between the two, there is no comparison. A clean 3toe+3toe vs. a clean 3flip+2toe and a clean 3flip vs. a 2loop. It's not like Ksenia is a KVDP level skater on basics and quality either. I think it harks back to Caro is so well known with the judges and Ksenia is still new to the senior international scene. Just like 6.0, there's that "wait your turn" rule in COP.

How did Carolina do? I thought I tuned in soon enough to see her, but if I did, I missed her because Universal Sports decided to go to the beginning of the earlier broadcast instead of showing the live stuff immediately.
Oh, well! Miki tried her best and that's what matters!

I'm joining the 'save skating' blog/group. Watching beginning from the very first group has been torturous - how these skaters try to deal w/the system, and true talent is pushed back, not recognized. Totally agree w/ Tara's comment about footwork under COP. I hope they make some changes or scrap this stupid numerical system that "calculates" without reflecting the reality.
