Seeing as she got 116 for her clean program at GPF, I'm not shocked. Plus, she's in the first group.

Skating so early kills a skater's PCS. I'm so proud of you, Akiko, for coming back! Good girl!! Hopefully, you're on your way to a top 10 finish!

Akiko had a long and busy season. Maybe too much skating this year??

Glad Akiko skated quite well. She gives off a joy when she skates. During break they are giving out the small medals for the free dance, so D/W will be picking up their little gold, and V/M their little silvers, just adds more colour to their collections. :O

I'm sure I won't be able to get on here later, and I don't have a feed. It's making me feel that I'm hearing about an event that's taking place in another dimension. I just wanted to wish all the ladies the best skate that's in them. I really hope Mao wins this one. She has one of the world's great smiles, and I'd love to see it this weekend. And Mirai, stay serene!

You're right, but that score didn't fail to shock me either. I thought people would start to appreciate her now that she has somewhat built her international acclaim. I'm hoping her PCS will increase substantially next year.

Just wondering - Akiko did GPF, Japanese natls, 4CC, Olympics and Worlds - that is alot of events with training time needed to keep at high level. Is it too much?

So proud of Akiko doing so well this season. A win in China, bronze in GPF and silver at Nationals. Top ten finishes in Olympics and (maybe) Worlds for her debut season really on the international scene (in terms of going to Worlds, etc. anyway).

Kwak is nice and has potential but it is ridiculous to think she is a top 10 skater already.
She needs a full year under Orser

I think everyone is getting fatigued! But yes, I think it's a lot for Akiko considering that she's only doing GP events and 4CC in 2009. I think we are so used by Akiko and her charm and skill that we forget that this is her world's championships debut!

I think maybe. It seems to affect the younger skaters more though, I really noticed how exhausted Dennis Ten looked at Junior and Senior worlds and seeing Kwak so out of it here after being so great at 4CC and the Olympics, I think it's hard to do that many competitions in a row.

    I know. :sheesh:
And I thought her overall choreography/transition improved.

I hope she is back next season as she is one of my favorites. Love her spirit.

I did not realize this was her first Worlds!
