Any Dream Will Do from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Anything from the Prince of Eygpt soundtrack:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gur8ccqrQ9c

And of course, for all those little Russian girls - Anastasia! My favorites being:
Once Upon a December http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seV5e96bTL4&feature=related
Journey to the Past http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m2BBC5dwoE

Prince of Egypt does have a good soundtrack. Which skater do you have in mind for it?

Actually, I've always thought of this track from the Edward Scissorhands OST for Yu-Na: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHWoT2mMfqc&feature=fvst
But the Main Theme you posted is a great piece of music, too. If I had to pick a skater to use it, I would go for either Stephane or Daisuke. More likely Daisuke, though--he's as expressive as Stephane, and he can pull off Edward's hair.

ETA: I can totally see Daisuke wearing something like Johnny Depp's costume in this film, too.

Well, in that case maybe Yuna should skate this theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMTrVgpDwPk ;)

At least it's catchy and interesting!

I don't know really, I feel like it is the type of music that most people could skate to, but maybe Mirai, Ksenia, or Akiko?

 I personally do not want to see Yuna skating to horror movie music. If Mao wants to then ok.....she already jumped off the deep end picking "Bells" for an Olympic year.

I think Yu-Na will be laughing too hard at the ridiculousness of it all to skate to the Psycho theme. :D I've read that she likes horror films, but I have no idea how she'd like such music. As for 'horror' music, does Danse Macabre count? :)

I think "Bells" can actually be quite good. Have you seen Jeff Buttle skate to it? I wish that Mao (or TAT) had chosen the particular music arrangement Jeff had used (piano, and not the very heavy orchestral one she used this season). Also, Michelle Kwan was to have skated "Bells" at Torino 2006. Does that mean that she almost 'jumped off the deep end'? :D

Bells wouldn't be a bad choice for certain skaters, but for soft, dainty Mao it definitely was a bad choice. When I think of Mao I think of Claire De Lune and Chopin, those were her best programs.

My favorite Mao program is Czardas. :) Which music would you choose for a Mao 'branching out artistically'?

I want Daisuke Takahashi to skate to Micro's Odore (Japanese for 'Dance') for an exhibition. BADLY. :) Have a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udk-BA6ENBs . I think it fits him perfectly, and he can definitely pull it off--he's the guy who delivered the Hip-Hop Swan. :) I can just imagine the awesome footwork (listen to that beat, it's total Dai), edges and dance moves (during the rap section).

If anyone's interested in what the words mean in English: http://www.jpopasia.com/play/7944/micro-of-def-tech/odore.html . I think there's a better translation--the one I posted seems unwieldy-- but I managed to erase the bookmark of that page. :(

silverlake22, are you familiar with Stravinsky's Petruska? (Here is an excerpt, Yuja Wang on the piano: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGUNesWKS0s  ) What do you think of this section's potential (or not) as skating music. I love it, but this part seems too fast to be skated to, even in the step sequences...

ETA: I just discovered a youtube video to Ilia Klimkin's 2001 LP to Petrushka... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmVod-LMkxg Sounds fun to skate to. :)

Yes, the music would be not out of the box at all for Miki and I think Ashley could do wonders with it.

I love Petrushka! It is really fast though, I think certain skaters could skate to it, and others it would definitely be too fast. Someone like Leonova, Ovcharova, Suzuki, or Nagasu could probably pull it off but most other skaters haven't really skated to anything fast like that before, so it's hard to tell.

I just edited my last post, where I posted a link to Ilia Klimkin skating to Petrushka. Different part of the music, I think? Akiko could definitely do that step sequence! The Yuja Wang piano version, I mean. Thanks for mentioning her, I can't believe I forgot her...

I'd really like to see more Sarasate music used in skating.

I think Habanera would be great for Laura: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78f_oMfiAdo&feature=related

Navarra reminds me of some of the music Mao uses in her ex pieces so I think it would be a great choice for her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmrzVVu4FUM
Sarasate. But seriously, if you were tasked (hypothetically) to guide Mao to expand her artistic horizons, what music would you choose for her?
