Is there ant news yet? I'm hoping she skates one more year as I love her style. There is really no one else like her. Another special talent.

I guess that depends on what she thinks she can accomplish.

I think I heard somewhere she wanted one more Canadian title. How many will that make and will it be a record?
If she skates at the 2011 Nationals, she might as well do Worlds too. I would think Skate Canada would expect her to do Worlds if she wins nationals, and not be too pleased if she just came to Nationals and left.
It will be a modern history record, but not an all time record.
Joannie has won the Canadian championship 6 times (2005-2010). That is currently a tie with Jennifer Robinson (1996, 1999-2003). Although, Joannie has won it all consecutively.

The all time record is Constance Wilson-Samuel, who won it 9 times. (1924, 1927, 1929-1935)

Well, I agree if she goes for that National title she should compete another year. At least I'd like to see it. Given the opportunities professionally that have and will come her way, tho, I rather doubt she will train really hard, do GP events/Worlds. Still, no announcements yet gives me hope.
Last I heard Joannie plans to continue another couple of seasons and wants to skate in another Olympics. Of course, anything could happen. I hope she does continue because I think she is really hitting her stride now as far as competing goes. I will never forget her brave skate after hearing the news of her mother passing...Oh, Joannie!

If she does continue to the 2014 Olympics, and continues to win Canadian Nationals over the next four years, she will exceed the all time record of Constance Wilson-Samuel.
