Would Plush have won if the new rules had been applied?
As the men's Oly event was a close competition between Evan and Plush, I wonder if the result would have been different if the new rules had been applied (base value changes, UR rule changes, and GOE factoring changes).
Here the protocols.
Even without calculating, I could see that Plush would have earned more points in SP, but LP, not so sure without doing math.

I saw a number on twitter that said 257 plusheno 255 Lysacek but I don't know how that can be factored because if in the long program the second step sequence is just graded on GOE so I don't know if it will ever be possible to know really. Like when people want to see if Plushenko in 2006 could beat Yagudin in 2002 or if Sarah Hughes would have beaten Kim Yu Na. There is just no way to ever know ever.
This is one of those wonderful "what if' thoughts that engage us pleasurably in the off season, but really, no one can tell. Because if Plushenko and Lysacek skated head to head again with new rules, Lysacek would change his program to accommodate those rules. So maybe he would still win...or maybe he would trip, or maybe Plushenko would stumble on his quad. There's no way to know that. Still, it's fun to speculate. Let the games begin!
leave no stone unturned
Since the new rules, it is on facebook also Plush Evan and Takas new scores, but I hate speculation, I just escaped the asylum of frustration, why to do this to myself again?
Plushy would have won if he had executed his jumps better.
Whether Evan won or a cleaner Plushy would have won - the CoP determined Dai's skating and what he showed on the ice wasn't as good.
I think the CoP showed that it is not about who shows fans the best and most elegant skating. It is only about who plays the CoP game the best.
I thouhgt Dai outskated and outperformed Evan and Plushy in Vancouver. It was nice to see him win in Torino.
